Top Trailer of ‘How I met your Father’- Season 2 reveals John Corbett as Sophie’s New Love Interest

In the brand-new trailer for the upcoming second season of How I Met Your Father on Hulu, life may not be ideal, but it seems like it's headed for heaven. The gang is back together, and while they may believe their lives are a total mess, we'd disagree given what the future holds for thirty-somethings trying to balance life, work, and relationships in New York.

The trailer shows a lot of special times with the central group of friends playing board games and drinking in the evening at Pemberton's. While others search for "the one," Charlie (Tom Ainsley) and Valentina (Francis RAI SA) break up despite their strong chemistry.

The trailer also features heart-wrenching scenes like Sophie (Hilary Duff), Jesse (Chris Lowell) learning to drive, and a cameo from Meghan Trainor, who appears to be giving birth in the living room. Josh Peck is likely to return in his recurring role, while S e x and the City's John Corbett will be Sophie's latest suitor.

Tie n Tran, Suraj Sharma and Kim Cat t r all star in How I Met Your Father. Kim Cat t r all voices Duff's character, Sophie, who looks back to the year 2050 and tells her son how she met his father in 2022.

Season 2 has a lot of loose ends to tie up since Season 1 ended with a massive cliffhanger involving Sophie's career. First, Sophie must choose which photo is the most valuable after Naomi Reis berg (Tessa Auberjonois) offers her the chance to showcase her photos in her gallery; finally opting for a candid photo of Jesse.

It's no wonder the sequel to the popular How I Met Your Mother series, How I Met Your Mother: The Series, received critical acclaim and won two Prime time Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Love, Simon writers Elizabeth Berger and Isaac AP taker are working with Duff as producers. Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, who co-created How I Met Your Mother, are executive producing the series.

They may have to figure out who they can bring in for season two after the debut show featured cameos from iconic How I Met Your Mother characters like Kyle MacLachlan's George van Smooth and Cobie Smulders' Robin Sherbatsky.

Plot, Twist & Turns and everything we know about How I meet your Father-Season 2:

When the streaming service How I Met Your Father launched in 2022, the world — or at least those with a Hulu subscription — got their first look at Sophie and her New York friends. Season 2 of How I Met Your Father premieres on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, so fans won't have to wait too long to enjoy another round of romance and comedy.

A trailer for the show's second season debuted on Hulu, giving a glimpse into the lives of the main characters as they venture into uncharted territory. Set to The Cure's Just Like Heaven," the short trailer conveys a lot of detail in a short amount of time without feeling cramped.

The cast and crew of How I Met Your Father return for another series of romance, life lessons and comedy, so the cast we first met in January 2022 will largely remain. Hilary Duff will once again star in the ensemble as the hopelessly romantic Sophie. Additionally, characters like Chris Lowell as Jesse, Francis  RAI SA as Valentina, Suraj Sharma as Sid, Tom Ainsley as Charlie and Ellen Tie n Tran are seen in the trailer. Kim Cat t r all as the future, Sophie tells her son how she met his father years ago.

The second season of How I Met Your Father will not only feature all  the returning characters, but Josh Peck's Drew as well, along with at least a few new ones. These include Michael Camino, who starred in Love, Victor, and John Corbett, who appeared in the Season 2 trailer and Instagram post from the show.

Although Hulu has yet to provide specific plot elements, we can infer what How I Met Your Father Season 2 will be about from a recently released trailer and a statement from the show's creators, Isaac AP taker and Elizabeth Berger, following the season one finale in March 2022. A second season of the show would, according to AP taker, it placed a strong emphasis on female characters living as single women in New York, with a particular focus on Valentina after her separation from Charlie.

"We have high expectations for the second season of Valentina. We've heard a lot about this character's wild and crazy days, but we've never actually seen them because she's thrown into this quicksand of a relationship. So season two will allow us to see Valentina's appearance outside of her relationship with Charlie and what she and Sophie look like when they meet men, at least from Valentina's point of view.

And while there will be some detours along the way (for example, Valentina and Charlie will be asked to hold each other's hands), as shown in the trailer above, there will be plenty of new adventures for the single girls.
