TOP TEN WAYS FOR DEVELOPING WRITING SKILLS OF STUDENTS

              Writing is a vital way of communication and a crucial part of education. It makes our imagination and learning experiences observable and everlasting. It develops our skills and abilities to convey and transfer our ideas to others and ourselves. It is a good tool for preserving our feelings, ideas, and sweet memories.  It is a good tool for understanding our lives and an effective source for entertaining others. I shall suggest these ways for developing the writing skills of the students.

 

1-Read up:

Reading is an essential requirement for writing. No reading means no writing. Regular reading helps students to develop their writing skills and abilities. It plays an important role in the advancement of learner’s writing styles and manners. It also helps them to expand their vocabulary and shows them different methods of using words. This also makes it easy for them to practice these words in their writing.

 

2-Make it fun:

Play games and actions that inspire writing. Crossword riddles and word sports are great for everybody. Little ones will especially like the "write the word" game: they examine for items and write down the word when they discover each item.

 

3- Use different resources:

The use of different resources develops the writing habit of the students. We can ask the students to use colorful chalks for writing. The students should also allow doing finger painting. It will develop their writing habit. 

 

4-Writing letters:

Inspire your students to write letters to associates or family members. Distant domestic members will specifically love getting handwritten letters, and it's a great technique to work on developing students' writing abilities.  Provide helpful feedback to students. Helpful feedback plays an important role in developing the writing habit of the students. It helps them to notice their errors and make them correct. It develops their writing skill and makes them good writers.

 

5-Model it:

There's no good technique to absorb something than to see somebody else doing it. Let your students see you writing frequently. When writing is a usual part of your everyday life, it will come more obvious to them. It will develop their habit of writing.

 

6-Use of technology:

Technology plays a huge part in our lives. Practice it to your benefit by having your students generate a blog. This can aid your students in working on refining their writing skills by encouraging regular writing practices.

 

7-Make it daily practice:

Make sure there's time every day to organize some writing in one method or another. Whether it's writing a grocery list, writing in a journal, or creating a letter, practicing writing each day will go an extended way to refining students writing skills.

 

8-Use of storytelling pictures:

We can also use storytelling pictures to develop the writing habit of our students. It develops their understanding of the situation. They can write easily with the help of storytelling pictures.

 

9-Use of simple words and sentences:

 The teacher can also write simple words on the whiteboard and ask the students to make simple sentences using those words. It will encourage their habit of writing.

 

10-Praise their work:

It is a good way to develop the writing skill of the students. Always try to praise their work. It will motivate them and develop their writing habit.
