Top Ten SEO Management Sites to Help You Boost Your Rankings

Number One Site: Moz

Moz’s free Keyword Explorer tool is a great place to start, particularly if you don’t have a ton of experience with link-building and keyword research. It will also send you weekly notifications about changes that Google makes, which can be very helpful in your SEO efforts.

Number Two Site: Serpstat

$100/month. Serpstat’s key differentiator is its Keyword Analysis section, which allows you to search for specific keywords and see how your site fares in comparison with your competition. They also provide you with suggestions for ranking improvement based on what it is they find.

Number Three Site: Keywords Everywhere

Keywords Everywhere is a Chrome extension that enables you to add keywords to a web page’s title, description, and URL. Just hover over a search result with your mouse and click a button—Keywords Everywhere will instantly add those optimized attributes. It also features an API for developers. In addition, it allows you to see at-a-glance how many keywords are on each webpage.

Number Four Site: SeoQuake

SeoQuake is an awesome little tool, which allows you to enter a URL and immediately check their website’s ranking across multiple search engines. It also gives you a number of other metrics such as social shares, backlinks, and Alexa traffic data. The one downside is that they give paid users a limited number of queries per day, so I don’t use it that often anymore.

Number Five Site: SpyFu

SpyFu is a valuable tool for getting information on your competitors’ search engine optimization efforts, particularly if you run a small business and don’t have access to enterprise-level tools. (Enterprise tools aren’t necessary to stay competitive online, but they can make your life easier.) SpyFu has historically been one of my favorite sites for getting solid data on competitor backlinks, rankings, and other important keyword info.

Number Six Site: SEMrush

SEMrush offers an excellent suite of management tools that’s vital for anyone serious about boosting search-engine rankings and capturing traffic from SERPs. From tracking organic keywords and analyzing industry data, to understanding a website’s backlink profile, SEMrush is one of the most powerful tools around. Moreover, you can use it for free (for a limited period) which makes it even more tempting.

Number Seven Site: Screaming Frog Section: Eight Site (tie): Analytics Spider Section: Eight Site (tie): Alexa

One of, if not THE, most important metrics for content optimization is visitor count. Having a way to monitor your ranking and visitor stats helps you understand which traffic sources are converting, and what keywords might be leaving leads on your site (leaving permanent spider cookies or clicks), and gives you insight into why some pages aren’t pulling their weight in search results.

Nine site: SimilarWeb Section: 10 site (tie): Term Explorer Section 10 site (tie): TrendSpottr

This tool is a little more geared toward brand search, but it can also work for businesses as well. It shows trending terms that users have been searching for in your field of interest and where they’re coming from. This could be a valuable tool if you want to track how popular your own site or business is compared to others. If a user is typing in an inquiry that includes your brand name and then clicking on another site’s result, it could indicate something about your marketing efforts or SEO ranking.
