Top Seven Tips For A Long And Healthy Life

Even the modern medical technology can never save you from the problems caused by life style which is unhealthy. Instead of getting modern medical fix for every problem, it is far better to live in a way that you will hardly ever fall ill. Prevention is certainly better than cure.

Here you will find seven tips on how to live a complete long and healthy life. In addition, such life style not only helps you to avoid illness but also will helps you in losing weight.

1-  Must Get Enough Exercise. Long ago, people had to use their physical bodies in the course of normal work. However, today someone may get up, go to work in a car, then sit down, get up to go home in car and when arriving at home, one may sit down again for the rest. In such a life there is no physical labor involved. The physical inactivity is one of the major reasons for inviting diseases. Sports, running, walking and other things should be added to the life, if our normal work does not require us to exert ourselves physically.

2- Must go to sleep when you feel sleepy. This might sound simple, however, most of the people stay up late even when their body is crying that it is time to sleep. Yoga and Ayurvedic doctors also advise that it is better to sleep in the night and be active during day. However, people like students will take coffee and stimulants to study late at night. Others develop habit of remaining active at night and sleeping during day. While we can do this, it eventually takes a violant toll on health. Alternative health doctors say that kind of unnatural living is one of the contributing factors in causation of cancer and other fatal diseases.

3- Must Eat as and when you feel hungry. This is also a simple idea, however, again we often go against the messages of our body. If you eat out of the habit or due to social pressure at certain times of the day, when you do not have real appetite, you will not be able to digest your food properly. Acidity and indigestion begins, and this contributes to likelihood of other more hazardious diseases taking root. Having an appetite is actually a sign of very good health, but if you have no appetite, you should wait for a while and then eat. If you have no appetite even after awaiting a reasonable amount of time, then you should consult a doctor, because something may be wrong.

4- One Should Fast on Regular and Systematic Basis. If you ask any person to work round the year without any rest, people would complain and they would say that they must be having some rest or else they will break down. But we have never bothered to ask or think about our digestive organs that we compel to work day after day without a rest. They can not protest the way a person would to the boss. But they do give us signals that they can not work non stop. When we ignore such signals and still compel them to work, those organs break down. That is why, periodic fasting is very necessary. One should refrain from eating for a complete day time. This gprovides rest to your digestive organs. It also helps in elimination of wastes from the body. Regular fasting allows a person to gain additional time for intellectual and spiritual pursuits. Fasting is not for the hermits in a cave, but is a sensible practice that anyone can practice in life.

5-    Do Wash with cool water before you go to bed. As mentioned earlier, proper sleep is compulsoryand  essential for maintenance of good health. If you wash your important motor and sensory organs like hands, arms, mouth, eyes, legs and genitals before sleep using cool water, it will relax you and will prepare you for deep sleep.

6-    Do meditation on regular basis. Your body is related to your mind. Many diseases of current era are psychosomatic. Stress and the anxiety take its toll on our physical health. Meditation is a mental exercise that, along with many other things, helps you to detach yourself from the worries of the life. You should learn a simple technique and do it on regular basis.

7-   Remember to be Regular. Once again the old proverb, “Early to bed, early to rise will make a person healthy, wealthy and wise.” I certainly don’t know if it will make you wealthy, but I am certain that it will make you healthy. Your body needs just enough sleep, not too much of it and not too little.
