Top secrets and myths about hair and nails

While Asians' (stronger) and Caucasians' black hair has better tensile strength than blonde hair, African black hair is more sensitive, and native, Australian, and islander hair can be as well.Tight braids, beads, and heat can damage all types of hair.

Scare Causes Gray Hair

Studies and research have endorsed the theory that the stress hormone adrenaline is responsible for real-time damage to the DNA present within genes, which is accountable for the production of "melanin,"  a pigment that gives hair its color.

SUMMER HAIR GROWS FAST.

Summer has nothing to do with hair growth. It has no reason to accelerate hair growth, but many people get a boost from certain foods, such as fruits and vegetables high in protein rather than carbohydrate-rich foods, which we prefer in the winter.

NAILS GROW FASTER IN THE SUMMER.

Nails grow quickly in a hot environment, so take advantage of the summer's heated weather. Nails grow faster with the same nutrition supplements as hair, and men's nails in general grow faster as compared to women. When compared to the other hand, your dominant hand's fingernail growth is usually faster. The nails on the middle finger grow the fastest, while the thumbnail grows the slowest, and fingernails grow faster than toenails.

FEAR MAY CAUSE HAIR TO TURN WHITE

Dermatologist Dr. David Orentrich says "no." One cannot lose pigment in the hair due to the fact that hair is dead when it comes out of the scalp, or, in other words, it is lifeless as it leaves the skull. But an extreme blow can also cause alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder that causes bald spots. In very rare cases, it can cause pigmented (black, brown, pink, or blond) coming out, leaving grey and white hair behind.

WHITE SPOTS ON THE NAILS MEAN CALCIUM DEFICIENCY.

This myth is also false, but it is understandable because calcium is also white. While the importance of calcium in building strong bones, teeth, and nails, etc. is a true fact, the pores of the skin and the hair are created by the fibrous protein keratin, which contains just a small amount of white calcium. White scars are usually symptoms of minor accidents to the nail bed.

TOENAILS SHOULD BE CUT STRAIGHT ACROSS.

If one cuts the sides of the toenail, it will surely get swelling around the skin up to the nail’s edge, which may cause the inappropriate growth of the nail. Cutting the nails straight across is the best way to prevent any damage to the skin and nails.

CUTTING HAIR WITH THE MOON FASTENS GROWTH PROGRESS

It may be called a superstition because in some parts of the world, especially in Brazil, it is believed that cutting hair between a quarter and full moon speeds up the growth, while in other regions, it is believed that cutting hair under a waxing moon helps them grow faster and stronger. How was the idea that the moon promotes growth? not even one right. The hair is no longer growing faster, but rather at a normal rate.

FENUGREEK (A TONIC) STRENGTHENS HAIR.

Unfortunately, it is also false. Fenugreek, local name "Methi," is used as a hair tonic in India. But, as it stands, It can make hair smooth and shiny, as well as treat dryness and dandruff, but there is no evidence that it can strengthen hair or promote regrowth.

DO YOUR RESEARCH.

One may lose several hairs—up to 100 or more—every time when hair gets washed. Check your hairbrush; if it is full of hairs, ask your healthcare provider to run a diagnosis, particularly a blood test that confirms the blood ferritin level, which is an indicator of how much iron the body stores. Low levels of ferritin indicated excessive hair loss. Thyroid disease is another indication of hair loss. Other conditions, such as diabetes and lupus, are responsible for baldness. Extreme emotional shock or physical or surgical trauma can also trigger it.
