Amnesty report: Four of the five largest countries on the death penalty list are in the Middle East

The Middle East is one of the four countries with the highest number of executions in the world by 2020, according to Amnesty International.

The human rights group said in a report released last year that of the 483 people executed worldwide, 88 percent were from four countries in the Middle East - Iran, Egypt, Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

Amnesty said that when most rest of the rest of the rest of the world focuses on protecting people before protecting the deadly virus, they remain "violent and cold".

According to the Amnesty report, the number of murders last year in decades, but China is not included in the list.

Thousands of people are said to be killed in China every year. In China, however, information about the death penalty is kept by the state.

North Korea and Vietnam have the same strict secrecy, so it is almost impossible to verify the status of the countries.

Amnesty's report states that 483 people were executed in 18 countries last year, which is 26 percent less than in 2019. 657 people were executed that year.

Amnesty's report says that the highest number of executions was carried out in 2015, at 1,634. From there it dropped to 70 percent last year.

The total number of executions in the Middle East has dropped from 579 in 2019 to 430 in 2020. The decline in the Middle East is thought to be due to a drop in the number of official executions in Saudi Arabia and Iraq last year.

Last year, 27 people died in Saudi Arabia, which is 80 percent less than last year. 45 people were killed in Iraq last year, half of last year.

However, the Amnesty report says that while the number has dropped in both countries, the death penalty has risen by 300 percent in Egypt. Egypt killed 107 people last year. The country is in third place in the list of countries with the highest number of murders.

Of those sentenced to death, 23 were convicted of political violence. Amnesty claims that the sentence was imposed by a dishonest trial based on a forced confession.

"The fact that the death penalty is a malicious penalty and continuing such punishment between epidemics shows what is real.

"Many of those who were imprisoned in the death penalty do not have access to legal representation. And those who want to have many health risks, he said.

"Hold the death penalty of such a state that is a serious human rights strike," he said.
