Top Russian media reports- Ukraine was building an 'atomic bomb

Russian media have accused Ukraine of building a "dirty bomb" or an atomic bomb. According to the report, Ukraine was on the verge of making the bomb. However, the source could not provide any evidence in support of that claim.

The West has dismissed accusations against Ukraine as a "false pretext" for Russia. Russia's state-run news agency TAS, RIA, quoted Interfax as saying on Sunday that Ukraine was building a nuclear weapon "Dirty Bomb" at the abandoned Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The country came close to making that bomb. The Russian media has been buzzing with this demand.

The Chernobyl nuclear power plant has been shut down since 2000. Ukraine denies bomb-making allegations The Ukrainian government has said it has no plans to rejoin the nuclear-armed country. Ukraine surrendered its nuclear weapons in 1994 after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Since then, they have not developed nuclear weapons. However, after the start of the military operation in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine was developing nuclear weapons using the knowledge gained during the Soviet era, in preparation for an attack on Russia.
