Students who appeared for Railway Recruitment Board's or RRB's Non-Technical Popular Categories exam 2021 held a protest on Tuesday at the Bihar Sharif railway station alleging discrepancies in the results.
The RRB Group D recruitment exam was to start on February 23. Apart from this, RRB has made changes in the formula of marks normalization which is not in exam notification.
RRB has said that 15 times more candidates will be passed in group D recruitment CBT-1 exam.
These candidates will appear in CBT-2, RRB has now renamed their post of Assistant Points man under Group D category as Pointsman.
Thousands of jobseekers have taken to railway tracks to voice their grievances regarding the Railways’ non-technical popular category protest.
Government job aspirants are alleging a scam in the hiring process.
The candidate alleged that fewer students have been selected than there should have been, and one candidate has been selected for multiple posts.
The protest intensified after the Railways had called for CBT 2 exam in RRB group D, which was earlier going to be just single exam recruitment.
Why Are RRB NTPC Candidates Protesting?
Candidates have been protesting, claiming that there has been a scam in the RRB NTPC recruitment exam.
The CBT 1 result was declared after a wait of years.
Candidates claim that the cut-off is too high, and a single candidate has been selected for multiple roles, which limit the scope of other candidates.
Jobseekers also claim that the recruitment agencies have favored higher educated candidates even for jobs with lower qualifications.
For instance, candidates claim that even for jobs for 10th and 12th pass roles, most of the selected candidates are graduates.
Lifetime Ban from Railway Jobs for Those Who Destroyed Property
In an official notice, Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) said that candidates protesting on railway tracks, disrupting the smooth functioning of trains, and damaging railway property have displayed indiscipline of the highest order.
The RRB said that it will hire video specialized agencies to look into the matter.
Candidates found involved in the incidents will face to face not only police action but will also be banned from jobs under railways for a lifetime, it said.
Rail Board : Students Allowed to Raise Concerns Till Feb 16
Railways has asked candidates to lodge their concerns.
All chairpersons of RRB's have also been directed to receive the grievances of candidates through their existing channels, compile these grievances and send the same to the committee.
Candidates have been given three weeks time up to February 16 to submit their concerns.
The committee after examining these concerns will submit their recommendations by March 4, 2022.
Thus, the RRB NTP C CBT 2 which was scheduled to begin on February 15 has now been put on hold.
YouTube-fame Online Teachers Alleged for Instigating Violence
Patna’s well-known teacher and YouTuber Khan Sir had allegedly appealed to the RRB NTPC candidates to voice their concerns and had said that on Republic Day, any student can hold any kind of agitation.
Other online teachers too are being accused of instigating the students in the RRB NTPC result case protest, which has taken a violent turn.
After the allegations, Khan sir uploaded another view appealing to students to keep their movement peaceful.
He stated that if they turn to violence, then no one will support them.
