ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday reported a reduction in the cost of petroleum and diesel by Rs10 / liter and Rs5 / unit of electricity tax, promising that their costs would not increase until the next budget.
In his 40-minute broadcast to the country, he said the cost of oil and commodities had risen sharply now, and it was accepted that they would begin to decline but the Ukrainian war began. "At the moment, I am worried that the cost may go down now. In the event of a collision, oil costs will also increase. If 30% of the world's gas comes from that point, the cost will also increase. They will go up, "he said.
The most serious issue for the nation at the moment is the cost of petrol and diesel. We need to buy them abroad, the cost of oil will go up. If there is a dispute, tell us.
Comparing the cost of fuel in Pakistan and different countries, he said petrol was Rs160 a liter in Pakistan but Rs260 a liter in India, Rs185 a liter in Bangladesh, and Rs200 a liter in Turkey. "We give Rs70 billion a fixed amount, and whenever it is removed, the cost of fuel will be R220 a liter," he explained.
He said he had received a report from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (AGRA) that petroleum and diesel prices should be increased by R10 a liter as oil is becoming more expensive in the world. "Instead of raising it by R10, we have chosen to reduce petrol and diesel by Rs10 / l. In addition, 60pc energy is also produced using imported petrol. Yet we have chosen to save our relatives from it, ” he added.
The Prime Minister said, "If we had built dams, Pakistan would have produced less energy but in 50 years there is no dam in Pakistan. We are building 10 dams in Pakistan and the next 5 to 10 years all dams will be demolished." Rs5 per unit, which will reduce energy bills by 20pc to 50pc.
He said the situation in the world was changing rapidly and was affecting Pakistan. He added that from the moment he joined the legal issues and even before that, he needed Pakistan's international strategy for independence. "An independent international strategy means that the country should have a plan to work for its relatives and not to support others and do evil in your country. To take part in the long war against the Soviet Union and when we joined it again 10 years later it was called jihad yet there. The US came to Afghanistan, at that time, called it mental stress. It was not done to help the people of Pakistan, "he explained.
He lamented that in the north 80,000 Pakistanis were killed for their faith in the conflict, 3.5 million people were expelled, ancestral districts were destroyed, and the nation lost more than $150 billion. "In any case, it was the worst situation in the world that Pakistan was fighting US conflicts but was besieged by the US itself," he lamented.
More than 400 robot strikes, he noted, ended in Pakistan. "Only 10 robotic strikes have been carried out according to General Musharraf's standard but in the civil authorities two ruling pioneers, Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif, who had to contend with them, drones attacked several times during their ten-year rule," he said.

"We needed to go to Russia as we need to bring 2 million tons of wheat to Russia and more importantly, Russia has 30% of the world's gas," he said.
