Top News - NBA Slam Dunk Contest odds and picks for 2022: All-Star Weekend predictions and expert picks on an 85-67 run
The NBA All-Star event that propelled several players to NBA stardom resumes Saturday as four players face off in the 2022 AT&T Slam Dunk on All-Star Saturday Night at Rocket Mortgage Field House in Cleveland. Rockets point guard Jalen Green, Knicks winger Obi Toppin, Magic winger Cole Anthony and Warriors winger Juan Toscano and Anderson will look to win the title they won, among others Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, and Kobe Bryant. Green, who was number 2 overall in the NBA draft last year, is listed as the +125 favorite (risk $100 to win $125) in the 2022 Slam Dunk Contest odds.
Toppin (+175), Anthony (+350), and Toscano and Anderson (+475) follow. The Slam Dunk will be the third and final All-Star Saturday Night event, which starts at 8 pm. ET also includes the Taco Bell Skills Challenge and the MTN DEW 3-Point Contest. Before choosing the 2022 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, be sure to check out All-Star Weekend predictions and betting tips from Sports Line's NBA expert Mike Barner.
He is one of the most respected voices in the industry and his work has appeared in Sports Illustrated and Yahoo, Roto Wire, and KFFL. He also appeared on ESPN Radio. It digs deep into the data, examines team trends, and projects game results. If there's anyone who can spot an advantage in a game or spot a player in break position, it's him.
Barner's experience has been in the spotlight lately. He has an incredible streak of 85-67-2 with his last 153 ATS picks, earning $1,125 for $100 players. Most importantly, in last year's Slam Dunk contest, Barner successfully picked Anfernee Simons (+175) to win. Whoever followed Barner is upstairs.
Now, Barner has looked at the 2022 Slam Dunk Contest from every angle and has just laid out his coveted picks and predictions for the All-Star Weekend. You can only see the Slam Dunk contest picks on SportsLine.
Top picks from the Slam Dunk Contest for Saturday
A surprise: after studying the Dunk Contest course, Barner is pessimistic about Toppin's chances. Toppin, a 6-foot-3 forward, is averaging 7.3 points and 3.6 rebounds in his second season with the Knicks, but stands out for playing over the limit. As of February 6, 47.2% of his field goals have been dunked.
Last season, Toppin finished in second place behind Simons despite dunking between his legs in the final. "It wouldn't be a surprise if [Toppin] won for the second time," Barner said. However, Barner chose someone besides Toppin.

Barner picked a player who opened "poster dunks" this season. He's including this player in his All-Star weekend bets, and so should you. He just shares who he is and what NBA Slam Dunk contest bets they approve on SportsLine.
