আইন, বিচার ও সংসদ বিষয়ক মন্ত্রী আনিসুল হক বলেছেন, আমরা জনগণকে দেশের উন্নয়নের অঙ্গীকার করেছিলাম। তা পূরণ করার চেষ্টা করছি। কিন্তু জনগণের ভোটাধিকার যদি কেউ বাধা দিতে চায়, তাহলে আইন অনুসারে ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে।
রবিবার (০১ জানুয়ারি) দুপুরে সচিবালয়ে আইন মন্ত্রণালয়ের নিজ দপ্তরে নতুন বছরের শুভেচ্ছা বিনিময়ে সাংবাদিকদের তিনি এসব কথা বলেন।
আনিসুল হক বলেন, বাংলাদেশ একটি গণতান্ত্রিক দেশ। শেখ হাসিনার সরকার গণতন্ত্রকে একটি প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক রূপে নিয়ে আসতে, গণতন্ত্রের শিকড় বাংলাদেশে শক্ত করতে যথেষ্ট চেষ্টা করছে। বর্তমানে গণতন্ত্রের যে বিকাশ, তা প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা সরকারের আমলেই হয়েছে। যে কারণে আমি দৃঢ়ভাবে বলতে পারি, এ সরকারের মেয়াদ পাঁচবছর।
এরপর সংবিধানে যেভাবে বলা আছে, সেভাবে নির্বাচন হবে।
টানা তিন মেয়াদে থাকা একটি সরকারের জন্য নতুন বছর কতটা চ্যালেঞ্জের জানতে চাইলে আইনমন্ত্রী বলেন, সরকারের চ্যালেঞ্জ হচ্ছে আওয়ামী লীগের নির্বাচনী ইশতেহারে যেসব অঙ্গীকার করা হয়েছিল, তা বাস্তবায়ন করা। যেসব অঙ্গীকার এখনও শেষ হয়নি, সেগুলো শেষ করতে সরকার প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ। শেখ হাসিনা বলেছিলেন বাংলাদেশ নিজস্ব অর্থায়নে পদ্মাসেতু করবে। ২০২২ সালের ২৫ জুন সেই পদ্মাসেতু উদ্বোধন করা হয়েছে।
একই বছরের ২৮ ডিসেম্বর মেট্রোরেল চালু করা হয়েছে। ইনশাআল্লাহ, এ বছরে বঙ্গবন্ধু টানেল, ঢাকা-ময়মনসিংহ- ঢাক-সিলেটের ফোর লেনের সড়কের কাজ শেষ হবে। যেসব উন্নয়ন কাজ এ বছর শেষ হওয়ার কথা, তা শেষ হবে। আমরা এটিকে চ্যালেঞ্জ হিসেবে গ্রহণ করে প্রকল্পগুলো শেষ করবো।
কিন্তু উন্নয়ন প্রকল্পগুলো কীভাবে চ্যালেঞ্জ হয় এমন প্রশ্নের জবাবে মন্ত্রী বলেন, কারণ আমরা করোনা মহামারির ধকল কাটিয়ে ওঠার চেষ্টা করছি। এখনো চীনে যথেষ্ট করোনারোগী আছে বলে আপনারা শুনছেন। এছাড়া রাশিয়া-ইউক্রেন যুদ্ধ তো রয়েছে। এগুলোর প্রভাব কাটিয়ে ওঠে আমরা যেসব প্রকল্পের কথা জনগণের কাছে প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিলাম, তা বাস্তবয়ন করা চ্যালেঞ্জ। যে কারণে আমি চ্যালেঞ্জের কথা বলেছি।

When asked how much of a challenge the new year will be for a three-term government, the law minister said that the government's challenge is to implement the promises made in the Awami League's election manifesto. The government is committed to complete the commitments that have not yet been completed. Sheikh Hasina said that Bangladesh will build the Padma Bridge with its own funding. The Padma Setu was inaugurated on 25 June 2022.
Metrorail was launched on December 28 of the same year. Inshallah, this year Bangabandhu Tunnel, Dhaka-Mymensingh-Dhaka-Sylhet four-lane road will be completed. The development works which were supposed to be completed this year will be completed. We take it as a challenge and complete the projects.
But in response to a question about how development projects are challenged, the minister said, because we are trying to overcome the pressure of the Corona epidemic. You hear that there are still enough corona patients in China. Besides, there is the Russia-Ukraine war. Overcoming their impact, the challenge is to implement the projects we promised to the people. That's why I mentioned the challenge.
