Bengaluru-based smartphone major Xiaomi unveiled its latest flagship model, the Mi 12. The company’s new flagship phone will be available in India soon and has already started sales. It will feature a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,520 pixels) AMOLED display that is backed by Gorilla Glass 5 at up to 100Hz refresh rate, and it also comes with 90Hz adaptive sampling rate which gives better latency than other phones for an efficient data processing. The device will also come with quad rear camera setup and two front cameras. The primary Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor will power the phone. The new Smartphone will also go against the norm of smartphones in terms of design, thanks to a slightly different shape that aims to make space for multiple sensors. For instance, Xiaomi claims that it has included three fingerprint sensors with support for face detection and retina scanning. On the back, there are dual SIM slots and a microSD card slot. The Xiaomi 12 will run on Android 11 out of the box and the company says that the OS can handle up to 4,000 hours of battery life on a single charge. Apart from this, there will be 3,500mAh battery inside as well. The Mi 13 Pro will run Android 14 out-the-box and the devices could be used together with either each other or separately. However, only a couple of details have been revealed about both handsets. The Xiaomi 12 is priced at $899 ($1,061 INR) for the base 7GB RAM + 128GB storage + NFC, up to $1,063 ($1,746 INR) for 8GB RAM + 128GB storage + NFC and 4,000mAh battery. There’s no word as yet as to when consumers might get their hands on the smart devices. The most interesting thing about Xiaomi products is how they create value. From affordable, innovative, and advanced tech products, these companies have always led the way in bringing innovations to industry and helping customers solve their problems through high-quality products and services. Xiaomi’s brand image will have a positive impact on society in the longer term, too, especially now that things like work-from-home (WFH), remote working, and staying engaged in physical and virtual learning have become more common trends. Xiaomi’s success in mobile phones has been built over several generations of innovation — starting with the original Xoom in 2001, followed by the first OnePlus in 2014, and finally, the current generation Mi. Xiaomi believes that one key difference between modern smartphones and traditional ones lies in the presence of a large screen. This enables users to view content while traveling, while still keeping eyes glued to the screen is great for taking calls, playing games, streaming movies, and even scrolling social media apps. Another feature that the Mi 12 will offer users that makes it stand above others is the availability of Dolby Atmos audio playback. It provides a cinematic experience to users. The Xiaomi 12 is expected to launch in March 2021 in some markets including Europe, North America, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, South East Asian territories and China. Additionally, Xiaomi has recently announced that it is set to enter Pakistan by launching its smartphone in late 2022. The company had last time launched its mid-range phone, the A14, in February 2020. For further information, you can visit the official website of Xiaomi.
