From childhood, we are thought that everything that takes birth has to die someday and nothing is forever. But some animals are immortal and can live forever if not killed by someone or diseases. Here is a list of five creatures that are immortal and can live forever naturally.

Jellyfish

Jellyfish is the only species found to date which can be called ‘biologically immortal’. These are small, transparent creatures found in oceans that revert to the earlier stage of their lifecycle.

The first name on this list is the tiny variety of jellyfish known as Turritopsisdoohmii, also known as the immortal jellyfish. According to National Geographic, it can live forever by actually reversing its aging process. In case it gets injured or sick, it gets back to its polyp stage for three days, converting its cells into its younger form that will ultimately grow into adulthood all over again.

Hydra

Hydra is a very simple creature that spends most of its time staying in the same place in freshwater ponds or rivers. They use their stinging tentacles to catch their prey that happens to come near.

Planarian Worms are also known as flatworms well known for their regenerating abilities and they can’t die until it’s killed by someone.

Researchers have found out that there is a species of flatworm that is not affected by the aging process and can be possibly immortal. Planarian worms have astonished scientists with their seemingly limitless capability to revive their body cells.

Researchers have been studying their capability to swap aged or damaged tissues and cells to comprehend the mechanisms that lead to their longevity.

Lobsters

Lobsters are not literally but they can rather lead quite a long life if not killed by their predators.

The most common cause of death among lobsters is a disease, not old age. They can grow and reproduce until they die because of some ailment or are killed by predators.
