Global warming is the main factor that is threatening our earth. In this article, we are going to see the various factors that affect global temperature. We are going to see how to avoid it and build a healthy environment or the living things on the Earth.
Fossil fuel combustible fuel containing hydrocarbons formed by natural processes such as anaerobic decomposition of buried dead organisms, examples being coal, petroleum and natural gas.
Petroleum and gas are hydrocarbons (molecules that have only hydrogen and carbon in them). Coal is mostly carbon. These fuels are called fossil fuels because they are dug up from underground. Coal mining digs up solid up liquid fuel. Fossil fuel was not much used until the Middle Ages. Coal became the main kind of fuel with the Industrial Revolution.
When fossil fuels are burned, they release large amounts of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, into the air. Greenhouse gases trap heat in our atmosphere hi, causing global warming. Already, why the average global temperature has increased by 1C. Warming above 1.5 °C risks further sea level rise, extreme weather, biodiversity loss and species extinction, as well as food scarcity, worsening health and poverty for millions of people worldwide.
Carbon dioxide and water vapor absorb infrared radiations coming to the earth and partly reflect it back to the earth's surface. Due to this, the surface of earth gets heated up. This phenomenon is called greenhouse effect.
Coal, crude oil and natural gas are all considered fossil fuels because they were formed from the fossilized, buried remains of plants and animals that lived millions of years ago. Because of their origins, fossil fuels have a high carbon content.
Crude oil, or petroleum (literally “rock oil” in Latin), is a liquid fossil fuel made up mostly of hydrocarbons (hydrogen and carbon compounds). Oil can be found in underground reservoirs; in the cracks, crevices, and pores of sedimentary rock; or in tar sands near the earth’s surface. It’s accessed by drilling, on land or at sea, or by strip mining in the case of tar sands oil and oil shale. Once extracted, oil is transported to refineries via supertanker, train, truck, or pipeline to be transformed into usable fuels such as gasoline, propane, kerosene, and jet fuel—as well as products such as plastics and paint.
Coal and the power plants that burn it account for less than a third of U.S. electricity generation, down from more than half in 2008. Cleaner, cheaper alternatives—including natural gas, renewables like solar and wind, and energy-efficient technologies—make coal far less economically attractive and demand for coal has fallen steadily since 2014. Today, coal-fired power plants continue to close, despite the former Trump administration’s promises of a revived industry. At the moment, market fluctuations amid the war in Ukraine have resulted in a sudden uptick in coal consumption, especially in its competition with fracked (natural) gas, but that is expected to be temporary as market forces propel the alternative energy source forward.
Deforestation is the intentional getting free from forested land. Since forever ago and into current times, timberlands have been leveled to account for farming and animal brushing, and to acquire wood for fuel, assembling, and development.
Deforestation or backwoods freedom is the evacuation of a woodland or stand of trees from land that is then switched over completely to non-timberland use. Deforestation can include change of woodland land to ranches, farms, or metropolitan use. The most gathered deforestation happens in tropical rainforests. Around 31% of Earth's territory surface is covered by backwoods at present. This is 33% not exactly the woodland cover before the development of farming, with half of that misfortune happening in the last century. Between 15 million to 18 million hectares of timberland, a region the size of Bangladesh, are obliterated consistently. On normal, 2,400 trees are chopped down each minute.
Because of deforestation, loss of species takes place. Different kinds of animals that live in forests do not get adequate amount of food they need, so these animals come out of the forest and enter into the nearby villages, residential areas and also destroy the form lands in order to meet their food requirements. It is a threat to human beings and their lives. Solution we have to plant more trees around. Wherever necessary each and every house should have at least one tree, many social service members are working to protect and plant trees.
In conclusion, in order to decrease the global warming we have to consider the above facts and if we follow the solutions we can control the global warming in the future.
