Top Dream World: The Beauty of Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls are 3 waterfalls at the southern end of the Niagara Gorge that stretches across the international border that is between the province of Ontario in Canada and the state of New York in the United States of America. Niagara Falls was created when glaciers retreated after the last ice age about 10,000 years ago and water from the newly formed Great Lakes carved its way into the Atlantic. The largest of the 3 falls is called Horseshoe Falls and is also known as Canadian Falls even though it moves across the border, the most extensive part of the Cascades. Elevators take visitors to a lower, wetter lookout behind the falls. The cliff park features a boardwalk along the 520-foot Sky Lon Tower with an observation deck. Two smaller falls, American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, are in the US. The falls are on the Niagara River, connecting Lake Erie with Lake Ontario. The flow of the compound falls is the highest of any waterfall in North America. More than 6 million cubic feet of water flow over the tops of the falls every minute. The falls are between Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada and Niagara Falls, New York, USA
