From the US to Russia, global leaders welcome India on its 75th Republic Day:
On Friday, French President Emmanuel Macron, who has been invited to India as the Chief Guest for the Republic Day celebrations, expressed warm wishes to Indian citizens. On the 75th Republic Day, India is showing its expanding military strength and cultural richness along Delhi's Kartavya Path.
Republic Day 2024:
On Friday, President Droupadi Murmu unfurled the tricolour at Kartavya Path in the national capital, kicking off India's 75th Republic Day celebrations. On this momentous occasion, countries from all over the world, including the United States, Russia, and France, expressed their greetings to India and praised the country's constitution and indelible contribution to democracy.
On Friday morning, French President Emmanuel Macron, who has been invited to India as the Chief Guest for the Republic Day celebrations, expressed his best wishes to Indian citizens. "My dear buddy @NarendraModi and Indian people, Best wishes on your Republic Day. I'm happy and proud to be here with you.
Notably, Macron visited Jaipur ahead of the Republic Day Parade and held a massive roadshow with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Rajasthan's Pink City. He also held bilateral conversations with India's Prime Minister, during which the two leaders discussed a wide variety of global and bilateral matters.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken congratulated India on Republic Day, stating that India's Constitution "continues to provide an enduring framework for the world's largest democracy and a foundation for its global leadership".
"As President Biden has stated, our relationship with India is among the most important in the world. The last year has seen significant achievements in our Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership, such as our collaboration during India's successful G20 Presidency and during the G20 Leaders' Summit. In the coming year, we hope to strengthen the strong people-to-people ties between our countries while also pushing our ambitious agenda for cooperation on our most pressing issues," he stated in an official statement.
The US State Department also formally expressed its desires to India. "I'd just like to take a moment to wish everyone watching a happy Indian Republic Day... India is a country; it is a major strategic partner of the United States, and we look forward to deepening our partnership in a variety of sectors. And this was particularly evident during Prime Minister Modi's state visit to the United States this past summer. So this is an issue on which we will continue to collaborate closely with our Indian colleagues," said State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel.
Long live Rusi-Bharatiya Dosti, says Russian envoy:
Denis Alipov, the Russian Ambassador to India, congratulated India and prayed for a prosperous 'Amrit Kaal' and a strong 'Russia-Bharatiya Dosti' (India-Russia friendship). "Warmest congrats on Republic Day, India! Wishing our Indian friends wealth, well-being, and a very bright #AmritKaal! #Bharat will live on! Long live Rusi-Bharatiya Dosti."
On this occasion, officials from the Russian embassy in India organized an event in which they danced to the renowned Bollywood song 'Mai Nikla Gaddi Leke' from the film Gadar. A Russian dance team joined the officials and demonstrated their dance moves, supported by youngsters and youth.

About Republic Day :
India is commemorating its 75th Republic Day today with a stunning 90-minute procession along the majestic Kartavya Path that will highlight the country's expanding military power and cultural richness. This year's themes are "Viksit Bharat" and "Bharat — Loktantra ki matrika," which highlight India's role in fostering democracy.
The celebrations, themed around women's power and democratic values, will include an all-women tri-services contingent for the first time. For the first time, over 100 women artists will lead the march, playing Indian musical instruments such as Sankh, Naadswaram, and Nagada in place of regular military bands.
The Republic Day procession began at 10:30 a.m. and would last approximately 90 minutes, spanning Vijay Chowk to Kartavya Path. During the parade, 16 tableaux from states and union territories, as well as nine from central ministries and departments, will roll down the Kartavya Path. Four Mi-17 IV helicopters from the 105 Helicopter Unit showered flower petals on the spectators at Kartavya Path. A joint band and marching group of the French Armed Forces passed through the Kartavya Path as well.
The celebration began with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the National War Memorial, where he led the nation in paying solemn respect to the fallen soldiers by placing a wreath. Minutes later, President Murmu and her French colleague Macron arrived at the Kartavya Path in a 'traditional buggy', a practice that had been abandoned for 40 years.
