According to Ayurveda, cough is caused due to imbalance of Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Apart from this, due to unhealthy food and lifestyle, Vata and Kapha doshas start occurring in the body. This causes coughing.

Due to viral infection.

Due to living in an environment containing pollution and dusty soil.

Due to excessive smoking.

Because of a cold or flu.

Cough can be caused by an allergy to a foreign substance in the nose and throat.

Dust or soil in a polluted environment can cause cough.

Dry cough can occur due to diseases like tuberculosis or asthma.

Lung cancer can cause a dry cough.

What are the types of cough?

There are mainly two types of cough-

1. Dry cough and 2. Cough containing mucus.

What are the symptoms of cough?

If the cough is due to an infection, then symptoms like runny nose, fever, pain in the sinuses, body aches and chills, mucus discharge, coughing-coughing and vomiting.

Symptoms of non-infectious cough - Such cough is due to dust, soil or something stuck in the throat and it happens for a short time when it goes out, then the cough gets cured on its own.

Symptoms of wet cough - wheezing sound in breathing, coughing up phlegm, feeling of tightness and pain in the chest, difficulty in breathing.

Symptoms of whooping cough - Cooker cough is also called whooping cough. The disease is caused by a microorganism called Bordell pertussis which initially affects the nose and throat. It affects the respiratory system of children below 2 years of age. It spreads through coughing or sneezing of an infected person. In this, the child has frequent coughing attacks. There is also a possibility of the child vomiting after coughing. Symptoms include coughing up mucus, difficulty in breathing, and special sounds in breathing.

Home remedies to get rid of cough

1. Gargle-

If you are troubled by cough or sore throat, then gargling with a glass of warm water with a pinch of salt provides quick relief from sore throat, because coughing causes swelling in the throat and swelling causes you a lot of trouble. Is. So drink hot water and eat hot things. If you cannot drink water, you can use soup or tea instead.

2. Use turmeric-

Turmeric has been used for many years to relieve cough. If you are troubled by cough, then drinking one teaspoon of turmeric powder in a glass of warm milk will give quick relief from cough. According to research, the antibacterial property of turmeric helps in relieving mucus. Many people recommend taking turmeric along with jaggery to get rid of cough.

3. Use honey-

Honey is used to cure many diseases. If you are troubled by cough, then add a spoonful of honey in a glass of warm water and drink it before sleeping at night. It will give relief from cough or drinking one spoon honey and one spoon lemon juice in a glass of warm water thrice a day also provides quick relief from cough.

4. Use basil leaves-

Boil basil leaves in water with black pepper, dry grapes, a little flour bran and liquorice. When the water is reduced to half, filter it after cooling it and heat it before sleeping at night and add some sugar and drink it at night for three to four days, the cough will be completely cured.

5. Use rock salt-

Rock salt can be very helpful in getting rid of the problem of cough. For this, heat a piece of rock salt well on the fire. When the piece of salt becomes hot, immediately put it in half a cup of water and take it out and drink this water before sleeping. Doing this will give a lot of relief from cough.

6. Use Ginger-

In case of cough, boil dry ginger in milk and drink this milk before sleeping. By doing this, the cough will be cured in a few days.
