Complaining that Nadia's death was due to medical negligence, her husband Anisur Rahman Palash said, after admission, her diarrhea was under control throughout the day and after ultrasonography at night, it was seen that the 16-week-old baby was healthy. But the next day, Nadia suffered a cardiac arrest. He was scrambling. But no doctor could be brought to the patient even after calling from 11 pm. After repeated calls, when the doctor came at 2 am, his physical condition started to worsen. taken to ICU. At this time it was decided to take the patient to another hospital by ICU ambulance. When the ICU officials were informed of this decision, they left the patient without any saline or oxygen for two hours by changing the dressing. If his condition worsened, I could not take him to another hospital. After the baby died in the womb, Nadia went on life support. My wife, mother and my four-year-old son lost their lives due to the hospital's mismanagement and doctors' negligence. Not only this hospital, but in most of the private hospitals of the country, patient suffering has become a daily occurrence. Business is running in the name of service in these clinics. And the victims have to be the victims. Many families are becoming destitute in the trap of these very profitable businessmen. Apart from this, there is a bitter experience of dismemberment in medical treatment, coming to get services. Due to the lack of confidence in the health care of the country, the influx of patients going abroad is increasing. The crowd of people going for medical visa at various embassies including India, Thailand, Singapore is on the rise. Mismanagement, crisis, technical limitations in government hospitals of the country. There is a crisis of confidence in the private sector, a trap of fraud. These factors are further fueling the tendency of the upper class to go abroad. Middle class and even lower middle class people are running abroad in the hope of better service. Complaints against several doctors for not listening carefully to the patient have been going on for a long time. Many doctors participate in three-day, six-day trainings abroad and write them down next to their nameplates. So that the patients think that they are degrees next to the name and rush to that doctor's chamber. Nazneen Nahar, a resident of Lalmatia area of the capital, said, I went to the private hospital chamber to see the doctor. We are trying to have a child but repeatedly after the child comes to the womb, there are complications and miscarriage. I am also emotionally devastated. Saw a doctor last week. I have done a test of about 30 thousand rupees. This doctor of endocrinology did not even listen to me, did not even look at the previous tests. After giving those tests again, he asked to bring them from the hospital where he is doing the chamber. I became more mentally broken due to this treatment of the doctor. Her husband Faisal Ahmed said, "If you don't get into trouble, you don't know the gaps in the country's health system." We have witnessed the unethical trade of some doctors and hospitals in the name of providing services. About one and a half lakhs have been spent but no one has yet to know the reason for not having children. When you go to the doctor, they only give you a list of tests. Hospitals, clinics, blood banks have grown like frog umbrellas all over the country. In the case of consecutive patient deaths, discussions are going on across the country about the services of private hospitals. Therefore, the health department is in a strict position against these hospitals to restore order in the health sector. It is known that the Department of Health has launched operations against illegal hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centers at various times. This campaign continued for several days but later it slowed down. In 2020, the Department of Health launched such an operation. But due to pressure from the owners, the campaign did not see the light of day.
As a result, action could not be taken against many illegal institutions. On May 25, 2022, the Department of Health launched a campaign against illegal health care institutions with a sudden announcement. Applauding the initiative, people from ordinary people to dignitaries recommended to continue the campaign. Even Bangladesh Private Hospital Owners Association welcomed this activity. At that time several institutions were closed with fines. License renewal period is also fixed for some establishments. But they didn't care. Because, to renew the license, the service conditions have to be met. Many organizations do not even have the capacity to meet that requirement. Some organizations are also reluctant. Later, when the speed of the operation slowed down, the illegal service organizations became active again. Last year, taking the opportunity to increase the prevalence of dengue, when the violence increased again, the health department again launched an operation against the illegal service institutions. But that too sagged. Department of Health again entered the field in the case of child death while undergoing circumcision. But now the campaign has slowed down a lot.
