Attacks by militants on army and police in ravaged Manipur have not stopped. Joint patrol teams of the Army and Assam Rifles were attacked in two districts of Manipur on Saturday. The first attack took place in Senapati district at around 11.25 am, while the second attack took place in Churachandpur district at around 12.45 pm. Two soldiers of Assam Rifles have been injured in this attack. The operation against the militants is still going on in Churachandpur. Arms and ammunition have been recovered.

 

According to sources, Army, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police are continuously patrolling to restore peace in Manipur. Meanwhile, militants opened fire on a patrol team of Assam Rifles at around 11.25 a.m., in the forest near Sipijang village in Senapati district. The army immediately took charge and retaliated. There is no news of any casualty in this yet. The terrorists fled on retaliatory firing by the army. After this, in the search operation, the army recovered two rifles and ammunition.

It may be mentioned that a police patrol party was attacked by suspected militants on Thursday at Tronglobi in Manipur's Bishnupur district. A Manipur police commando was killed, and five others were injured in the attack.
