Top 8 latest changes in YouTube 2021

Youtube is constantly evolving. And 2021 is no different. Here's what you need to know about the latest YouTube updates.

YouTube is home to many great videos. However, the platform is constantly changing and emerging. And 2021 is no different.

These changes are a mixed bag, with some designed to encourage content creators to create more content, some intended to help users get more out of the service, and some designed to help YouTube make more money.

In this article, we look at some of the YouTube rules set to change in 2021, along with some of the new features being rolled out.

1. YouTube Monetization

YouTube boasts tens of millions of content creators and over 2 billion monthly users. YouTube uses automated algorithms to show specific content to particular users based on background factors such as location, age, and others.
As a user on the platform, you should be aware that YouTube has the right to monetize all pieces of content on the platform legally. This includes ads displayed on videos that are not within the YouTube Partner Program. These ads will be placed on videos of users who can monetize their videos. Revenue for those videos can therefore go to YouTube entirely.

Also, be aware that this type of revenue will not be shared with video creators.

2. Face Recognition Limit

YouTube's policy on collecting information from others is clear: "Don't do it." This applies to using YouTube username or personal image, favoring other people's faces, or asking your users for their email addresses.

You need to ask permission before using the information to do something not to hurt that person or others. YouTube also advises competition creators to adhere to YouTube's competition policies and guidelines.

3.YouTube Chapters

The Terms of Service explicitly state that you may not be able to collect any information created or installed by anyone without their consent. While this often includes facial expressions, new policies make this clear.

YouTube Chapters first launched in 2019 and are getting stronger by the day. If you rate Google on your YouTube video, these chapters will appear below your Google rating.

YouTube automatically adds chapters to videos, so the content creator doesn't have to manipulate you if they don't want to. The company is also experimenting with a new stamp tool to help content creators post chapters freely.

4.YouTube shorts

YouTube introduced Shorts in 2020, and it's very similar to TikTok. YouTube Shorts are concise videos up to 60 seconds long that are presented in a horizontal format. This YouTube feature is already present on your mobile homepage; it has created tools that make video content creation seamless.

Examples of such tools are music and sound, where you can add a song or audio content when creating your own YouTube Short. This camera tool was first explored in India but is now available to the rest of the world.

5. YouTube Royal Payments and Tax Reservations

You have full copyright to the content uploaded to YouTube. The sequence of words, whatever you have, is truly yours. However, YouTube emphasizes that you have granted certain rights to it and other consumers of the service.

In a recent update, it said:

By providing content on this service, you are granting YouTube a worldwide, fair, cost-effective, transferable, and flexible license to use that content (including reproduction, distribution, modification, reproduction, performance) to operate, promote, and enhance the service.

YouTube creators who qualify for cash payments are reminded that those payments will be considered US tax rights. Google may withhold these taxes when required by law.

6. Filtering YouTube homepage

YouTube has new filtering options on its homepage; this gives users more opportunities to filter their content. You can see the various topics you watch most often, and you can see different videos.

For example, you can see modern-day worship music or sales-related videos if you regularly view one of these types of videos. But you can also see types of videos, such as lifestyle videos or recent uploads.

This new feature is only available in the English version of YouTube. If you want to see this, switch from your YouTube language to English, and you'll see. We hope that this feature will be rolled out worldwide before the end of 2021.

7. YouTube Surveys

YouTube has added trials to get quality and quality data for its creators and users. After watching the video, you can see a survey entitled, "How's YouTube Today?" You have a choice; Very Outstanding, Very Good, Very Good, Good, or Bad. You can see other lines like, "Did you enjoy this video?".
That's why as a creator, you have to create incredible videos that truly teach, entertain, or inform others. This feature gives viewers a lot of options and creates a robust algorithm.

YouTube also gives viewers more control by reporting unsolicited ads that they think should not be on YouTube.

8. Many features of YouTube are mobile

YouTube is aware of this and makes features only available on desktops and laptops on mobile devices.

Other examples of these features are metadata, black mode, real-time analytics, and the ability to filter your comments. By 2020, YouTube has introduced new analytics data, such as the amount of time your viewers are available on YouTube, the other types of videos your viewers are watching, and the essential details of audience retention.
