Self-care literally means taking care of yourself. It includes everything you do to keep yourself healthy, physically, mentally, and spiritually. It means putting yourself first and taking care of yourself as you would take care of your child.

Meditating is the best way to relax and take time for yourself. You feel very relaxed after completing the session and which is also very good for reducing stress. Meditation gives your brain some rest that is working 24 hours continuously or unconsciously, which helps us focus on the present.

It is also important that you sleep well. Research shows that sleep maybe your body's most powerful recovery tool. To sleep better, you can drink less coffee, Increase bright light exposure during the day, read or write, put on calm music and think about happy hours/ loved ones.

Reading is perfect for your brain. According to a study published in the scientific journal Science reading heavier literature, easy-to-read fiction reduces stress and helps you train your concentration. Reading also improves your social skills and boost confidence.
4. Take a walk

Don't underestimate it: walking is very healthy. It makes your heart and lungs stronger; it is also good for your mind. It strengthens the muscles and improves bones density which helps against depression and insomnia. It is always better to go for a long walk other than exercise for a short time.
5. Do something creative

Being Creative keeps you busy all the time, which helps in reducing stress. It is also a good way to keep your brain fit. Because when you are creative, the Frontal cortex of your brain is activated. This automatically generates energy to complete the task, which positively affects your mind and body.
6. Listen to music

Listening to music is not only a relaxing activity. Music has the power to reduces stress and increases empathy. It can even reduce depression and pain. Music with a stronger beat makes you more alert, and therefore you can work much more concentrated by enjoying your work.
7. Surround yourself with positives people

Humans are comfortable with people of the same qualities and core values as we feel like a safe home. This also makes us much happier and that, in turn, has a positive influence on your mind and body. So surround yourself with people who appreciate you for who you are. Thus you automatically start putting more effort into boosting your efficiency. Results and amount of hard work will give satisfaction and thus inner peace.
8. Maintain your social contacts

Humans are social creatures by nature, and good friends can make us happier. Who do you miss? Reach out to them! Make an appointment to get together and do fun things or have a long phone conversation.
In adulthood, it can sometimes seem impossible to make new friends. But it's not about how many friends you have. It's about having meaningful relationships - even if it's just with one or two people.
Try joining a local volunteer group or taking a confidence course to meet new people quickly.
Both can help connect you with like-minded people in your area. And chances are, other people are looking for friends too.
Companionship doesn't have to be limited to other people. According to multiple studies, pets can provide similar benefits.
