Top 8 Fabrics and their uses everyone must know.

In today's generation, most of us use most known variety of fabric material dresses, but most of us are not aware of which fabric we use. In this article we will discuss about what is fabrics, different types of fabrics and their uses.

In simple Fabric is termed as cloth that was produced by knitting or weaving. Some modern techniques used to extract the fabrics. These fabrics were used in different clothing purpose. As we will be discussing about most known 8 varieties of Fabrics below.

Different types of Fabrics:
1. Cotton
2. Jersey
3. Leather
4. Linen
5. Wool
6. Polyester
7. Silk
8. Velvet

We will discuss in detail each different type of fabrics below:

1. Cotton:

Cotton is simply named as staple fiber and is prepared from natural fibers of cotton plants.
Cotton seemed to be soft and fluffy material. The cotton is referred a part of cotton plant.
This cotton is used in garments to T-shirts, home products such as beds, bed sheets and in surgical usages.

2. Jersey:

Jersey is very soft and stretchy fibric which was prepared from wool. Now a days jersey is also prepared from cotton. Where one side of Jersey is smooth knit while other side looks as loop. The fabric is commonly be light and medium weight. Jersey is used in wide variety of clothing and household products like bed, bed sheets and sweatshirts.

3. Leather:

Leather is mainly extracted from animals' skin, where different leather was extracted for different types of animals and here different techniques were used to manufacture them. Leather is extracted from all animals and there are durable and wrinkle resistant fabric they seemed to be very strong enough.

4. Linen:

Linen is very strong and light weight fabric when compared with other fabrics. This linen is prepared from flax plant. This linen fabric is commonly used for napkins, bedsheets, tablecloths, towels and for other household products. The linen material is mainly used for the inner layer of jackets. 
These linens have a greater quality of absorbent and breathable fabric which is mostly used in summer, as the lightweight qualities allow air to pass through and moderate the body temperature.

5. Wool:

Wool is a type of fabric extracted from sheep; it is also named as traditional extracted wool. Wool is one of the softest forms of wools and they are not to skin. This happens because the small diameter of the wool fibric which made it more flexibility. This wool is treated as luxurious fibric and this wool is mostly used in socks and outdoor cloths.

6. Polyester

Polyester is prepared by human and it is synthetic fiber which was prepared from petrochemicals like petrol and coal. This polyester has a character of long durable. And it cannot be breathable and cannot absorb liquids like water and gel. Polyester is very popular as the durable fiber and can give strength to other types of fabrics.

7. Silk:

Silk is naturally extracted from silk worm and it is a natural fibric and mainly produced from an insect that prepare for its nests and shelter. Silk is commonly named for its shine and softness as its material. It is durable and strong material with beautiful shine which it maintains. Silk is used in bedding, clothing and for accessories related to dresses.

8. Velvet:

Velvet is the softest fabric and luxurious fabrics that are prepared from dense pile. Velvet itself has beautiful and most unique soft and shiny appearance. This Velvet fabric is most popularly used in evening wear and dresses in special parties. Initially the velvet is extracted from silk, cotton, wool and linen. As the preparation of these velvet is less expensive when compared with other fabrics. This velvet is mainly used in curtains, pillows and it is also used for daily-wear clothes and many more.
