TOP 7 TIPS TO STAY FIT AS A STUDENT
1. JOIN A SPORTS TEAM OR START PLAYING SOME SPORTS:- Joining a sports team is one of the most acceptable ways to get in shape and meet new people. According to British Universities and College Sports, the regulatory organization of university sports, there are 48 sports available on UK campuses. Basketball, boxing, fencing, football, gymnastics, hockey, lacrosse, rowing, sailing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, and windsurfing are examples of these sports.
2. EAT A BALANCED DIET:- A well-balanced diet is one of the best methods to keep your body and mind healthy. The National Health Service (NHS) has excellent guidance on how to eat a nutritious diet, which includes suggestions such as:
Potatoes, bread, rice, pasta, and cereals should account for one-third of your daily calories. Make careful you select the choices with the highest fiber content.
Every day, consume at least five pieces of fruit or vegetables.
Everything should be done with caution: Avoid foods high in saturated fat, salt, or sugar.
3. GET ENOUGH SLEEP:- When you're cramming for tests, the first thing you might give up is sleep to get everything done. For late adolescents (14-17 years old), the Sleep Foundation recommends eight to ten hours of sleep and seven to nine hours for adults (18-64 years old). Getting enough sleep has health benefits such as lowering sickness, managing weight, reducing stress, and boosting mental health.
4. WALK:- If at all possible, walk everywhere. If you reside on campus, walking to class is a must; but, if you have other destinations where you're debating whether to walk or take public transportation, why not leave a little early and try walking? Nothing beats getting some fresh air, getting to know your surroundings, and getting some exercise in the process.
5. STAY CONNECTED: While studying and focusing on your education is essential, it's also great for your mental health to regularly check in with friends and family. Being away from your home country can be complex and often cause homesickness. So drop a text or call a friend or family member from home to see how they are. It could be the refresh you need to give you that motivation to keep going on.
6. STAY HYDRATED AND HEALTHY:-
Health professionals suggest that every day they drink about two liters of water. The best method to do so is to bring a bottle of water, the gym, or your workstation around to your classroom. The best way to detect if you drink too much or too little water is to examine the color of your urine - it should be pale yellow. You drink too much if it's obvious, but you don't drink enough when it's too yellow.
It should be borne in mind that drinking water is entirely safe for international students. Many institutions give free water as well as water fountains on the campus.
7. HAVE FUN AND ENJOY:- It's crucial to concentrate on your academics, but thoughtful pauses are essential as well. Chiropractors advise that you do not have to sit more than four hours at a desk, so why not go to the gym merely in the morning and then study further? No overwork and some rest can help you manage stress and keep your mental health under control. Just give it a shot! Could you give it a go?
