Varanasi Temples
There are also a few significant Hindu temples; the most well-known is the Vishvanath Temple. Varanasi considered being the holiest temple of North India.

1. Sarnath Temple
Sarnath is a place for Buddhists, Located at a distance of 10 km northeast of Varanasi. This is where Lord Buddha initially lectured his lessons subsequent to accomplishing explanation at Bodh Gaya.
In Sarnath, you can visit the Archeological Museum which shows a surprising variety of Buddhist Artifacts, Ashokan Lion Capital, Dharma Stupa worked by Emperor Ashoka, and some more.
2. Kashi Vishwanath Temple
Varanasi is home to Kashi Vishwanath temple, which is known for Lord Shiva. It enshrines one of the twelve Jyotirlingams of Lord Shiva. It is said that this temple was recreated numerous times. Thousands of Pilgrims meet here to perform an abhishekam to the holy Jyotirlingam, with water from the Ganga River. Besides its religious significance, the temple is also a magnificent structure that offers a wonderful view to the viewer.
3. Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple
Tour of Varanasi is not full without visiting Sankat Mochan Temple. Placed on the banks of River Assi, Sankat Mochan Temple is holy to Lord Hanuman. It is one of the oldest Hindu holy places in Varanasi which is visited by thousands of followers of Lord Hanuman every day. The name ‘Sankat Mochan’ means to relieve problems. One of the main highlights of this revered holy place is the icon of Lord Hanuman which is facing Lord Rama, whom he worshipped with much love and loyalty.
4. Kaal Bhairava Temple
It is well-known as the most ancient temple of Varanasi located near Vishesharganj. God Kal Bhairava is known to be the Kotwal of Sati Pind. Without his authorization, no one can even touch the Sati Pind.
5. Bharat Mata Temple
Bharat Mata Mandir is in the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith campus in Varanasi, India. Instead of habitual statues of gods and goddesses, this temple has an enormous map of exclusive India carved in marble. This temple is known to Bharat Mata and claims to be the only one of its kind in the world.
6. Durga Kund Temple
Maa Durga Temple is located nearby to Durga Kund. The temple is known for Goddess Maa Durga and was built in the 18th Century. The temple was built in the North Indian Style with multi-tiered towers (Shikhara). A beautiful pond known as the Durga Kund is constructed on the right side of the temple. It is supposed that the idol of Goddess Durga emerged on its own in the temple.
7. Maa Annapurna Temple
Mata Annapurna temple is located in Varanasi at Dashashwamedh road, Vishwanath Gali and near to the Kashi Vishwanath temple. Annapurna temple is known to the Annapurna Mata, the Goddess of food (Anna means food and Purna means full or complete), Mata Parvati. There was a golden icon of the Annapurna Mata in the Maa Annapurna temple.
