Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) burst onto the scene in 1993 and brought new hope to martial arts fighting, which had previously been seen as dirty or barbaric by many countries around the world. Ultimate Fighting Championship was founded by the Fertitta brothers and run under their leadership until 2000, when they sold it to Zuffa, LLC. The UFC thrived in its new environment, with several more ownership changes before finally being purchased in 2016 by William Morris Endeavor Entertainment and International Management Group.
Top news from UFC events
With UFC 200 just days away, it's a good time to look back at some of last year's top news from Ultimate Fighting Championship events. For example, during his press conference after his defeat to Nate Diaz in March, Conor McGregor said that he would never fight again for Zuffa LLC and its parent company, Ultimate Fighting Championship. Less than two weeks later, Dana White confirmed that negotiations were ongoing between The Notorious and UFC regarding his return fight. Though both White and McGregor have said they don't like each other very much anymore due to what happened leading up to UFC 196, they have been seen joking around together occassionally after McGregor's most recent arrest over fighting charges stemming from an incident involving one of Conor's friends.

UFC Rumors: Conor McGregor vs. Cowboy Cerrone Rematch Could Be in the Works
UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor wants to fight Tony Ferguson, not Khabib Nurmagomedov in his next bout. Top Fights Announced for UFC Fight Night 139 in Wichita, Kansas
UFC Fight Night 139 is set to take place in Wichita, Kansas on December 15. No fights have been announced for that date just yet, but it's a good bet that some big names will be competing at UFC Wichita. One reason it makes sense to hold an event in Wichita is that former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is from there and could headline his own show. But Miocic isn't even scheduled to fight on Dec. 15 so it may be something else entirely. Or maybe he'll fight Daniel Cornier right after he wins a major boxing match?
