7.- Gujarat
In Gujarat, 250,000 tonnes of sugarcane are cultivated annually. Farmers grow sugarcane on 1.8 lakh hectares of land here. 3% of India's sugarcane is considered fertile in Gujarat. The southern districts of Gujarat, like Valsad, Navsari, etc., contribute the most in the cultivation of Nee. There are about 34 Sugarmiles executives in Gujarat, where sugarcane is processed.
6.- Bihar
Affected by the Kosi river, this state suffers from floods every year. Although floodwater proves to be suitable for sugarcane fields, Bihar comes at number 6 on our list. The water of the Kosi river comes out from its banks and banks, due to which the problem of flood becomes common in Bihar, and this floodwater makes the land more fertile here. Here sugarcane is cultivated in an area of about 2.6 lakh hectares, due to which more than one crore tonnes of sugarcane is produced here. There are many sugar mills and jaggery factories in Bihar. Because of this, there is a tremendous amount of sugar production in Bihar.
5.- Andhra Pradesh
In Andhra Pradesh, flax oil is found, which is best known for the production of sugarcane. The environment of Andhra Pradesh is also considered suitable for sugarcane. The Krishna and Godavari rivers flowing here never let there be a shortage of water. There are about 31 sugar factories present here, so sugar is also produced here at a reasonable level, here in about one year, about one crore, 49 lakh tonnes of sugarcane is grown.
4.- Karnataka
The Krishna and Kaveri rivers flow in the state of Karnataka, which makes the soil fertile for sugarcane. Here only sugarcane is cultivated on 4 lakh hectares of land, which produces about 300.46 million tonnes of sugarcane annually. There are 41 sugar mills in Karnataka, due to which sugar is also produced here in large quantities, due to which Karnataka comes at 4th place in this list.
3.- Tamil Nadu
Although there are not many rivers flowing in Tamil Nadu, so for the cultivation of sugarcane, one has to depend only on the water of the Kaveri river, as well as there is not much rain here. Despite all these inconveniences, an annual sugarcane yield of about 107 tonnes per hectare is recorded in Tamil Nadu. Due to technical means here, even on 2.3 lakh hectares of land, three crore 75 lakh tonnes of sugarcane is produced. Also, there are 41 sugar factories where sugar is produced in large quantities.
2.- Maharashtra
Sugarcane is cultivated on 9 lakh hectares of land in Maharashtra. There are about 180 sugar factories in Maharashtra, which is more than any other state in India. Maharashtra accounts for 20% of sugar production in India, which makes it the second-largest state on this list.
1.-Uttar Pradesh
With the blessings of the river Ganga, the land of Uttar Pradesh is instrumental and fertile, due to which there is never any shortage of water for sugarcane cultivation here. Here only sugarcane is cultivated on 21 lakh hectares of land, which produces about 13 crores 33 lakh tonnes of sugarcane annually. Approximately 160 sugar factories in Uttar Pradesh contribute 24% to India's sugar production. Asia's largest sugar mill is also present in Uttar Pradesh. Due to these reasons, Uttar Pradesh comes at the top of this list.
