1.Pattachitra
Pattachitra is a traditional, cloth-based scroll painting based in Odisha and West Bengal. Most of these paintings depict stories of Hindu deities. Originating from the fifth century in religious hubs like Puri and Konark, around the same time that sculpturing began, considering there was no known distinction between an artist and sculptor back then. 2. Nirmal
Nirmal town in Telangana has always been considered as the gifted land related to art and crafts. This art form has derived from the place of its origin, Nirmal. Nirmal painting is a popular form of painting from the Adilabad district, Telangana. This art was practiced in the 14th century by a group of artisans known as Naqash. 3.Warli
Warli paintings are mural paintings quite similar to those found in the rock shelter of Bhimbetka in Madhya Pradesh, done approximately 30,000 years ago. It is mainly the use of a circle, a triangle, and a square. Originating by the Warli tribes from the Western ghat of India. All the paintings are done on a red ochre or dark background, while the shapes are white in color. It is one of the oldest art forms of India.
4.Thanjavur
It has a unique place in the history of Indian paintings. It is a classical South Indian painting style, from the town of Thanjavur, originating in 1600 AD, encouraged by the Nayakas of Thanjavur. It originated in the Maratha court of Thanjavur. It is distinguished by its famous gold coating, which glitters and lends the painting a surreal look.
5.Madhubani
This painting is practiced in the Mithila region of Bihar. It is done with fingers, twigs, brushes, nib pens, and matchsticks. It uses natural dyes and pigments and is characterized by eye-catching geometrical patterns. It is originated in the kingdom of Janak in Nepal and present-day Bihar. 6. Kalamezhuthu
Kalamezhuthu is a ritual art form of Kerala wherein the deity’s form is drawn on the floor using five types of colored powder. It is an ancient art woven into the ritualistic mores of Bhagavati, Naga, and Ayyappa temples in Kerala; It refers to the pictorial representation of deities on the floor ( kalam) using colored powders during ceremonies.
7.Rajasthani Miniature Paintings
The style of miniature painting developed mainly in the independent Hindu states of Rajasthan in western India. Also called Rajasthan painting. The art was introduced to the land of India by the Mughals, who brought the much-revealed art form from Persia. The colors Were extracted from certain minerals, plant sources, conch shells, and even derived by processing precious stones.
