Top 7 Agricultural Methods In Near Future

As fruits and vegetables are essential for a healthy diet, one should always include a variety of plenty vegetables & fruits in daily diet.

Below are the top 10 vertical farming innovations that could end up on your plate soon!

  1. Hydroponics - growing plants without soil.

Hydroponics

In this, the plants are grown without soil, bark, or peat moss. In simple words, it is a way to skip the ground and grow crops directly in nutrient-rich water. If you want to do hydroponics farming, basic needs are Freshwater, Oxygen, Root support, Nutrients, and, most importantly, light.

What you Need:

Freshwater: Most plants like water with a pH level of around 6-6.5. You can adjust the acidity of your water with solutions that are found in hydroponic stores etc.

Oxygen: Normally, in traditional farming, which is done in soil, roots can get the oxygen needed from pockets of air in the ground. For that, you have to leave space between the base of your plant and the water reservoir in the hydroponics system.

Root Support: This plant's roots still need a little something to hold on to though it is without soil. Materials like vermiculite, perlite, coconut fiber, and Rockwool can be used for root support.

Nutrients: Plants need plenty of magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, and other nutrients to stay healthy and productive. In traditional farming, where plants are grown in the ground for that purpose, we use fertilizer. That nutrient solution can be available in stores, and it is easy to buy mixtures online, or you can make your nutrient solutions.

Light: Each kind of plant will have a different requirement for the amount of light it needs, and you might have to invest in some special lighting.

  1. Aeroponics - growing plants with no soil & very little water

                                       Aeroponics

The word Aeroponic is derived from the Greek meanings of aer and ponos. This type o farming is different from hydroponics farming. The basic principle of aeroponics growing is to grow plants in a closed or semi-closed environment by spraying the plant's roots and lower stem with an atomized or sprayed, nutrient-rich water solution.

  1. Aquaponics - An Ecosystem that promotes plants & fish farming together

Aquaponics term originated from the two words aquaculture, which means the growing of fish in a closed environment, and hydroponics, which means the growing of plants usually in a soil-less environment.

  1. Lokal - serving fresh food right where it's grown

It means locally grown, which refers to food and other agricultural products e.g., wool or flowers that are grown or produced, processed, and then sold fresh within a specific area where it's grown

  1. Aerofarms - The smart vertical farming innovation

It is a bold mission to grow the best plants possible for the betterment of humanity.

  1. Plant scrapers - A building that provides food for its occupants.

     7. Sky greens - the world's first Hydraulic driver vertical farm

Vertical farming is revolutionary & more sustainable method of agriculture. By using this method, we can lower water requirements to up to 70% & also there is saving of space and soil. This eco-friendly method makes the possibility of farming real under challenging environments.

Organic farming is becoming popular because people are becoming alert for their health & also for the health of nature.
