Top 6 ways to make your morning more productive and focused

The morning routine helps us set the tone for the day, allowing us to control our schedules rather than our schedule controlling us. Building a morning routine has proven to improve focus, reduce stress, build good habits, control our lives, and have many more benefits. The following 6 lifesavers help you to have a productive morning. This is the ‘SAVERS.’

1. S- is for silence

Early in the morning, the world has a soothing stillness, and when you wake up before everyone else, you can take time to absorb it. The idea is to create and strengthen the serenity within you by taking time to be alone and in peace.

Creating intentional SILENCE (includes meditation, praying, gratitude, or listening to the ambient noise around in your room) makes you start your day on a calm note.

2. A – for affirmations

Affirmations are nothing but positive statements about yourself or anything else.

Affirmations help re-program our beliefs and overcome fears and habits by ONLY SAYING WORDS that reflect your goal. Saying affirmations and feeling its truth has a power like nothing else.

Affirmations combined with physical activity (like dancing it out and saying it out loud) helps with the mind-body connection. Traditional and cultural methods of physical affirmation would be religious praise and worship sessions, satsangs, etc. Say it out loud, sing it, scream it! Your affirmations impress your subconscious mind with conviction that you are already a success and literally convinces it to level up and eventually push you enough to work harder to your goals. Training our mind is actually like training a puppy. It needs to practice, and you need to say things to it AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN.

3. V- is for visualisation

It’s simple. Shut your eyes, imagine and visualize in your mind – the ideal life you aim to live. The dream house, dream partner, dream job – it could be anything. BUT believe that you have it already.

Success can be uncomfortable, and somewhere you might fear visualizing your ideal life, thinking that can’t happen. But leave that thought aside for a while and tell yourself – “I don’t know how, but this sh*t is happening. I see it, it’s mine already”. This activity again tricks your mind into changing your beliefs and training itself into believing greater things.

4. E – is for exercise

If you don’t make time for exercise, you’ll have to make time for illness” – Robin Sharma.

Exercise is not a luxury but a requirement. It’s giving the respect your body needs every day. Most of us fail to understand this and complain about so many other things in life. You’ve surely heard of Dopamine and Endorphins – the feel-good chemical that’s released when you work out, and that explains it all. You need a dose of an instant mood lifter every morning, and there is nothing better than moving your body.

5. R-Is for reading

“Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body

Another activity should be added to each of our lives no matter how ‘cool’ we are reading books. It not only expands your mind but especially in this digital age, broadens your creative thinking, helps more in visualization, and stimulates a complex network of circuits and signals in the brain – that watching television or your phone will never do.

Reading every day (even for 15-20 mins) will fast-track your confidence levels, broaden your imagination, vocabulary, and knowledge, and entertain your free time in the most optimum way, and scroll through your phone or binge-watching tv shows will not do that.

6. S- is for scribing

Writing down your thoughts, affirmations, and gratitude has a huge impact on your actions. It could be a journal or even a to-do list. Please write down your plan for the day, write your affirmations, and then read aloud.

Planning on paper is a great way to segregate your thoughts and plans, and it serves as a written proof for your actions, growth, and progress. It can make you more committed to your goals and give better results. Similarly, writing down your affirmations and gratitude instills a deeper connection with your mind and goals and helps you get better results.
