We hear it all the time… Lose weight in your life. Few people, however, know how important this is to their physical well-being and, ultimately, their lifetime.
In January 2003, the Journal of the American Medical Association published a study that found that obesity appears to reduce life expectancy, especially in the elderly. The study showed a 20-year-old obese man, (5'10 ”) 178cm and weighing (288 kg) 130kg, estimated to have lost 13 years of his life due to obesity.
It has now been well-studied that Western diets that lead to obesity may actually work to promote cancer cell growth. It is never too late to improve your health with a healthy diet and a more healthy lifestyle. Here are some simple steps you can take to improve your health and energy.
1. Check to see if you are overweight or obese.
You need to divide your weight (measured in kilograms) by your height (measured in meters) square to get your BMI. If the result is more than 25, your health can be improved by losing weight.
2. Adapt your diet to your physical needs.
Suppose you eat and drink more calories than your body needs; you will put on weight. Learn to control calories and portion portions, make recipes smaller, and not eat too often from fast restaurants. And learn how to eat healthy food.
3. Color your diet with a wide variety of colorful fruits and vegetables, which fight cancer.
There are seven different colors of fruit and vegetables. By choosing between 5 to 9 daily from many different types of fruits and vegetables, we increase our use of cancer (and other diseases) to fight nutrients.
4. Eat lean protein for each meal.
Proteins provide a powerful signal to the brain that gives a long feeling of fullness. A proper source of protein is important in controlling your appetite for fewer calories and is needed to maintain your lean muscle mass. Protein options should be softened by slicing and stirring with fruit; white chicken and turkey, seafood such as shrimp, prawns, scallops, and lobster, and seafood or vegetarians may choose soy-based meat products.
5. Rejuvenate your body with exercise.
If you want to enjoy a full and healthy life, exercise is a key ingredient. It is recommended that adults work for 30 minutes each day which takes as much effort as walking fast. Children should work one hour a day.
6. Get support to make sure you have a healthy eating plan and reach the weight of your goal.
The study, "The results of Internet Behavioral Counseling on Weight Loss in Adult at Risk of Type 2 Diabetes," shows that participants who supported weight training were significantly less likely than those who did not. Research has concluded that weight loss trainer support can significantly improve weight loss results.
Obesity or overweight have been found alongside smoking as a major preventable risk of developing cancer. Even a small amount of weight loss has been shown to have beneficial effects on health. So it’s never too late to start, and you’ll never be too young or too old to worry about your health and do something about achieving a healthy weight.
