Top 6 ways to keep your bathroom clean & germ free

The bathroom always stays wet, and due to the moisture in the air during the rainy season, it starts looking damper. There is also the possibility of the growth of germs due to moisture.

Know how to keep the bathroom germ-free.

In 6 easy steps :

1. Keep floors Clean

Clean the bathroom floor regularly. Also, clean with disinfectant once a week. Also, clean the bathroom walls, toilet seat, bathtub, and the area around the shower.  With daily cleaning of the floor, water does not freeze on it, and there is no fear of becoming slippery. Use these steps :

 (I) Keep The Dirt Outside - The first step in keeping the floor clean is to prevent dust from entering the house. Place a mat both inside and outside the entrance door so that people entering the house can wipe their feet.

(ii) Leave Open Space - Dust and dirt usually accumulate in places that are cramped up. If you have piles of newspaper lying around or furniture cramped up, dust will likely settle there.

(iii) Clear Food Particles - food particles, especially in the kitchen, will not only make your floor dirty but also attract pests and insects. Keep the kitchen clean all the time by immediately removing food particles.

(iii) Be Quick To Remove Spots - Clean spots and stains as soon as they happen. This prevents stains from getting worse, thus making them easy to clean.

(iv) Wipe Out Water - water in the bathroom can be a breeding ground for mold and mildew. Keep the bathroom floors dry all time.

(v) Mopping Regularly - Mopping regularly helps to prevent dust accumulated on the floor. Moping can be done with water and a floor cleaner.

2.Use the same soap

It is widespread to use the same soap, but it is worth nothing. Family members often use the same soap for bathing.

If you are sharing a bar of soap with family members living in the same household, it is easy to assume you will be sharing germs in other more significant ways aside from bar soap.

For Example, hand-drying clothes are teeming with germs and bacteria when shared by multiple people. They are also not changed nearly as often as they should and remain damp for long periods, inviting mold and skin cells that can feed different pathogens.

And also, if someone has an infection, it can reach another person. So either uses different soaps or use liquid soap.

3. Do not hang towels in Bathroom

Often, after bathing, towels are hung in the bathroom or washed and kept in the bathroom to be found there while bathing. But if you hang them on hooks, moisture(and any excess soap that's collected) can stay trapped between the folds, which could lead to mildew and bacteria growth. And also, due to moisture, germs make their place In the towel. Germs spread even after flushing. Therefore, do not keep towels and clothes hanging in the bathroom.

4.keep the loofah (sponges)ventilated

By their nature, loofah sponges have lots of nooks and crannies, and they're very porous. When people use a loofah to scrub off dead skin cells, those cells become lodged in the nooks and crannies. And that sets the stage for bacterial breeding ground, says dermatologist Melissa Piliang, MD.

SO, If you use a loofah for bathing, then wash it and keep it in a place where wind and sunlight come. Due to prolonged moisture, bacteria start growing in it, which increases the risk of infection.

5. Keep brush holder clean

While brushing, the brush holder gets attention only for a few minutes. Hence its Cleanliness gets ignored. Keep cleaning the brush holder every week or fifteen days. Due to this, there is no fear of bacteria and infection. If you wonder how to keep a toothbrush holder clean,  experts say to try to clean weakly - or as often as you clean your toilet.

Follow these steps:-

(i) Rinse the toothbrush holder with hot water.

(ii) Use a small bristle brush or pipe cleaner to scrub the inside of toothbrush slots

6.Do Not Spread Soap

This problem is widespread. Laundry soap in the bathroom spreads on the floor and gets dirty. Sometimes soap accumulates, and then it isn't easy to clean. Either keep the soap in such a place where it can get air or use washing powder only.
