1. Thermometers are not allowed in airplanes.

Not all thermometers are banned in airplanes, and only classical thermometers have Mercury in them. This is because if by mistake thermometer Mercury come in contact with plane aluminum part then due to high-pressure Mercury speedily reacts with aluminum and create a hole in a plane which is quite dangerous. A modern thermometer like the digital thermometer is allowed in planes.

The surface area of adult human alveoli (part of human lungs) is mainly large enough that their surface area is about 75 meters square. For this reason we first need to understand the function of alveoli in our body. In alveoli exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide takes place through the thin surface of it. So to ensure proper exchange of gases, their area should be of sufficient value as more area means more space to exchange gases.

4. Mantis shrimp creates an electric current.

It didn't convert sound energy into electrical energy. It produces a sound of enough power that this sound creates temporary bubbles in dense water. This is because when sound travels in water, it creates high pressure and low-pressure zones. In a low-pressure zone, a bubble makes by pushing water molecules. But due to increased pressure in deep oceans, this bubble collapsed, and gases inside the bubble pressurized and became hot. Not even hot, its temperature became nearly equal to the temperature of the sun. And by this high pressure and temperature, gas molecules convert into plasma. But for this little high-temperature plasma, water acts as a coolant as plasma temperatures drastically decrease (cooldown), and this heat energy is converted into electrical energy. And we see a light flash.

5. How do cats heal themselves with their voice?

When cats are in pain, they produce low-frequency sounds between 50-150 Hz; earlier scientists thought this sound was familiar. But recently, some studies show this sound has great importance in a cat's life as low frequency sounds waves generally heels wounds very fast. Only when a cat's bones are fractured, they produce this sound. These low-frequency sounds create stress of vibration in fractured areas. As a result, the cells present there secrete some chemicals that help form bone cells.
