Top 6 rules of hygiene when creating makeup.

Is it enough to wash your hands before applying cosmetics? We tell all about make-up hygiene.

You can take care of your skin as thoroughly as you like, but it will not be healthy and beautiful if you do not follow hygiene rules. Washing your hands before starting your make-up is the least you can do for “hygienic” make-up.

1. Disinfect your hands:

At home, it is enough to wash your hands with soap and water to feel free to start creating makeup. If you decide to tweak the makeup during the day and even on the run, do not forget to disinfect your hands with an antiseptic gel or antibacterial wet wipes.

This is important! Moving around the city, doing our daily activities, we do not notice how many microbes we collect on the skin of our hands. They should not be on the face, so it is imperative to clean your hands.

2. Use jars with dispensers:

When choosing cosmetics, give preference to products that are produced in packaging with a dispenser. This is especially true for skincare products: face creams, for example, are most often produced in open jars.

This creates certain risks - putting our fingers (not always clean) into the jar, many of us leave germs there. Dispenser bottles solve this problem: air and bacteria do not get inside. And a humid environment is extremely favorable for their reproduction.

3. Stock up on disposable tools:

Of course, we buy brushes more than once. However, disposable instruments are encouraged - some products can be applied, for example, with a cotton swab.

Disposable cosmetic sponges can also come in handy. This will minimize the risk of transferring bacteria and impurities to your skin.

4. Remember to wash your brushes:

Ideally, makeup brushes should be washed after each use. To prevent bacteria from accumulating on them, treat the brushes with standard soap (it is better to use liquid soap since the soap in pieces collects germs) and leave them to dry.

Once a week, you can arrange your brushes for a more thorough cleaning: disinfect them with special products containing alcohol that kills germs.

5. Don't let anyone use your makeup:

It is not hygienic to give your cosmetics to other people, even if they are your relatives. You can use the same mascara, eye shadow, eyeliner, lipstick, and lip gloss if your friend has a disposable brush she can draw from a tube.

By the way, it is advised to remove the top layer of lipstick from the rod and to grind down the pencils for lips and eyes.

6. Cleanse your skin in two steps:

The most important component of beauty hygiene is a thorough cleansing of the skin. In no case should you ignore the make-up removal procedure before bedtime?

Under the layer of cosmetics, microbes that are active at night will multiply and provoke inflammation. Regularly wash off makeup with micellar water and cleanse your face with a special gel to keep the skin from deteriorating.
