The town is accessible from Srinagar by road via Tangmarg. Winter sports like skiing, tobogganing, snowboarding, and heli-skiing take place on Mount Apharwat, reachable by a Gondola liftMaharani Temple. The temple is dedicated to Shiva and Parvati. This temple is situated on a slight hilltop with greenery. This temple is visible from all corners of Gulmarg. An annual three-day Gulmarg Winter Festival is held in March.
3.Dal Lake
Dal is a lake in Srinagar, which is the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. it is integral to tourism and called as "Lake of Flowers."Its view is awesome and eye feast. The lake is also an important source for commercial operations in fishing and water plant harvesting.
4.Sonamarg
Sonamarg provides trekking tracks leading to Vishansar lake, Krishansar lake, Ganabal lake, and Gadsar lake in the Himalayas, stocked with snow trout and brown trout. The Sind River meanders here and abounds with trout and mahseer. Ponies can be hired to trip up to Thajiwas glacier, a major attraction during the summer months. The Yatra to the nearby Amarnath Temple begins in Sonamarg.
5.Jammu
Tourism is the largest industry in Jammu city. It is also a focal point for the pilgrims going to Vaishno Devi and Kashmir valley, the second last railway terminal in North India. All the routes leading to Kashmir, Poonch, Doda, and Laddakh start from Jammu city. So throughout the year, the city remains full of people from all the parts of India. Places of interest include old historic palaces like Mubarak Mandi, Purani Mandi, Rani Park, Amar Mahal, Bahu fort, Ragunath Temple, Ranbireshwar Temple, Karbala, Peer Meetha, Old city.
6.Kupwara
Kupwara district is one of the 10 districts in the Kashmir Valley region of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The river Kishangangar, originating from the Himalayas, flows through the outer areas of the district from east to west. The must-visit place in the Kupwara district is Bungus valley. The valley has level green meadows surrounded by low-lying mountains covered with dense Coniferous forest and a stream flowing through them.
7.Lolab Forest
Travelers visiting Lolab sometimes visit the resting place of the saint Kashyap rishi, which is located at a distance of 1 km from village Lalpora. A spring called Lavnag can be found nearby. The spring is three feet deep and has crystal clear water. Gauri spring is another major spring in the area. Due to a lack of intervention by the government, the place has an inferior flow of tourists which keeps its potential for tourism still unexplored. This place still manages to be one of the topmost camping sites in Kashmir.
