Top 5 Ways To Manage Your Diet For Diabetes

Since being diagnosed with diabetes at the age of eleven, my own diet has changed dramatically. I am maintaining my current healthy weight with a great diet / diet plan,

I will visit your doctor for more tips on how to do it without risk.

I have had diabetes for seven years now, but it would be completely wrong to tell you how I maintain my weight. Anyway, I can recommend you to follow my steps,  so I know what works and what does not. Before I really start, I have to say that I was raised by great parents who taught me to eat everything, as well as I did! If there is anything you do not like, there are many other diabetic recipes and ideas that you can eat and appreciate.

I am a university student and want to buy fresh and organic products from where I live. I believe this is important because it is best for your body and may contain more nutrients and vitamins than most supermarket products. I love getting food from my fortnightly farmer's market in town that sells excellent meat and dairy products and seasonal fruits and vegetables. Another important thing to remember is that eating fruits and vegetables in their season means they will do you good and good. As you can see, I'm mostly influenced by Western European cuisine (mainly French and Italian), but I do not claim to be a chef and everything is easy and very convenient.

I have read countless diet books and diabetic recipes / diet books, and I think it really works. I incorporated all the good stuff from the diet (but not from every diet) and added a sort of my own. I call this my Juvenile Diabetes Healthy Diet!

The "rules" I set are as follows:

1. Reduce breakfast, and then change the food you eat.

While this may not seem obvious to me, it is definitely my biggest fall. When I first started in university, I had little or no routine, which meant it was hard to finish my day and going to the kitchen for breakfast, no matter how healthy, was a common occurrence. For some it can be a daunting task, but for a great diabetic it is very important to set up a great routine. Types of snacks to eat include unsalted nuts, dried sweet fruits, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables (I like fresh red peppers and cucumbers), dark chocolate (rich and good, and you usually only need 2 squares).

2. Reduce the white flour and reduce the total carbs.

This is the most important part of your diet, and is the thing that shows the biggest increase in weight loss. Some diets actually focus on this point and are very successful. Wholemeal (especially Stone ground Wholemeal) is great for you and has a lot of flavor that can change easily than you think. Many people will be really surprised to see the range you find in your supermarket, remember again that the best bread for you is fresh, with a small amount of preservatives or added ingredients. In addition, brown or basmati rice looks great with a beautiful nutty texture. The whole pasta was great, and I totally recommend the small fresh potato for your potatoes.

3. Stop drinking cocktails, start drinking.

Cocktails are packed with sugar, dyes and preservatives. As a student I practiced a lot without going out and drinking cocktails, so if I feel like drinking anything I like drinks like Malibu and Diet Coke and make them all night. Then I can top it off with Diet Coke (almost sugar-free) and I feel like I’m drinking Malibu, who needs to know. If you are in a restaurant‌, red wine is much better than what you order, (except water, though!) A glass throughout the day is recommended with your evening meal.

4. Start cooking more fruits and vegetables.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are a great way to get all the vitamins and minerals you need. And there are many ways to cook vegetables, but I have found that greens are the best and steamed. Both of these methods also have their inherent goodness. I will follow this post with another diabetes recipe post.

5. Drink more water.

I know you've heard people say this many times before, but the benefits of drinking more water are endless. Here are some tips on how to get more water in your day, "first" of all keep water bottles in all the places you go home or office. So put a glass on your desk, on your desk, in the kitchen, in the bedroom, in the sitting room, and so on. Try and drink all these glasses, and you will have on your way up to 8 glasses a day. The trick is to pour a glass every few days, if you try to drink all that water at once, you will not be inclined to drink 8 glasses again, trust me! Go on, you'll be amazed at how good you feel.
