1 Howrah Bridge 

Howrah bridge is a very beautiful bridge over the Hoogly river.This bridge is a famous symbol of kolkata, West bengal, India.This bridge was constructed by Braithwaite, Burn & Jessop construction company from 1936 to 1942. 

Howrah was the 3rd longest cantilever bridge, in the world, behind the Pont de Quebec  ( 549 mitres ) in Canada.  The bridge servers as the gateway to kolkata, connecting it to the Howrah station, which is one of the five intercity train terminus station serivig Howrah and Kolkata. 

2 Victoria memorial 

The Victoria memorial is a large marble building in kolkata, West bengal, India. Which was built between 1906 and 1921. It is dedicated to the memory of queen Victoria, and it is now a museum under the auspices of the Ministry of culture.

Victoria is one of the major land mark of kolkata. It is a mixture of British and Mughal architecture, which is called the Indo serasanic revival architecture, which is followed by British in 19th century.

3 Birla Mandir 

Birla mandir of kolkata is a 20th century magnificant structure built in white- and cream-colored sands stone, reflecting Rajasthani.  It was built by the industrialist Birla family. 

Birla mandir in kolkata, India, is a Hindu temple on Asutoah chowdhury Avenue, Ballygunge . This is open in the morning from 5:30 AM to 11 AM and the evening from 4:30 PM to 9 PM.  On janmasthami, the birthday of Krishna, devotes come from faraway places to play their respect to the deities. 

Location: Nearest metro station of Birla mandir are jatin Das Park and VIP Bazar ( under construction) . It is 16 km from Dumdum / kolkata Airport, 5 km from sealdah railway station and apart from these; buses trams, taxies, etc are also available. 

The construction of the temple began in 1970. It took 26 years to complete the entire structure. The construction was supervised by the sampuras. 

4 Jorasanko Thakur bari 

jorasanko thakur bari is also famous for its architecture. It is currently located on the Rabindra Bharati University campus at 6/4 Dawarka nath tagore lane, jorasanko, kolkata 700007.

It is the house in which the poet and first European Nobel laureate, Rabindra nath tagore was born.it is also the place where he spent most of his childhood and died on 7 August, 1941. 

Rabindra Bharati University organizes regular cultural programmes on poets birthday, and another occasion, such as his death anniversary, Baishe shravan. It also organises a festival of art, Aban mela etc. 

5 Jaldapara wildlife sanctuary 

wildlife preserve in West bengal state, northeast India. The preserve was established in 1941 mainly for the protection of the great Indian rhinoceros. It extends over an area of 84 square miles  ( 217 square km ) in the northern part of the state, near the Bhutan border, and is composed of forested flatlands dissected torsa River and its tributaries the forest cover consist mainly of seattered teak and tall grass. Also within the sanctuary are swamp deer, leopard, sambar, Hog deer, Barking deer, wild pigs, jungle fowl, peaceful, quail, and an occasional elephant and tiger. There are riding elephant available in the preserve. 

Located : The jaldapara wildlife sanctuary is located at the distance of 72 km from the River wood forest retreat. Dooars situated at the foothills of the eastetn Himalayas in Alipurduar district in West bengal and the banks of the river Torsa , Jaldapara covers 216 sq.km of forest land. 

It was established in 1941 with aim to protect the one horned rhinoceros.  Indian rhinoceros,  and endangered species. 

The sanctuary is home to of the big five wild animals the one horned Indian rhinoceros and Royal bengal tiger. The park holds the highest population of rhinoceros right after kaziranga National park, Assam. Other wild animals that can be found here are Elephants, leopard, sambar, Hog deer, Barking deer, spotted deer, wild boars, and Guar.
