1. TETRIS

According to The Tetris Corporation, Tetris is the all-time best-seller with 520 million copies sold, making it arguably the most timeless video game ever made. The classic puzzle game was first made available for the Elektronika 60 computer, which was developed by the Soviet Union, and has since been adapted for more than 50 different platforms. Significantly, it contributed to the Game Boy's popularity, which ultimately saw 35 million units sold for Nintendo's portable device.

The business points that that number includes sales from all 22 of its platforms. Moreover, Minecraft has beyond the medium in a manner that few others have done before it, with projects for Netflix, education, toys, and a variety of other industries either finished or in development. The best-selling console/PC game of all time is Grand Theft Auto 5. (the top two entries on this list have mobile versions, too). On September 30, 2022, sales of Rockstar's most ambitious GTA ever had topped 170 million units. GTA 5 was the fastest entertainment release across all mediums to reach $1 billion; it has since made Rockstar and Take-Two billions more, making it the most profitable entertainment release ever, at least as of 2018. That figure aggregates the game's sales totals from across three console generations and PC between 2013 and 2022.
4. PLAYER UNKNOWS BATTLE GROUNDS

It's hardly unexpected that PUBG has had such a significant impact on the rise in popularity of battle royale games over the past five years. According to Krafton Creative Director Dave Curd, as of December 2021, 75 million copies of PUBG have been sold. The shooter's ultimate sales total will probably equal that as it becomes free to play a month later in January 2022. While because free mobile downloads don't count against its sales total, it's important to note that as of March 2021, PUBG Mobile has been downloaded more over 1 billion times.
5. RED DEAD REDEMPTION

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the most recent game to achieve a top 10 ranking. According to publisher Take-most Two's recent financial report, Red Dead Redemption 2's early controls and features, which increased the effect of having the complete map open up to me a few hours later, had sold over 46 million copies of Rockstar's western epic as of September 30, 2022. With little vision and heavy snow encasing Arthur's feet, the conditions on the mountain are so cramped they border on the uncomfortable. The wonderful sense of freedom the entire map affords is truly brought home when you're finally let loose in the genuine wide world after enduring this deliberately harsh atmosphere.
