One of the most exciting things about traveling was finding out why things are the way they are today.
Five things about the world may seem absurd at first but are proven accurate, from hidden mysteries to mysteries!
1) It is snowing in the Sahara Desert
Deserts are known for their minimal rainfall. And if the rains were not too high, would not the snowfall be too small?
Unusual events occurred in 2018, and the Sahara desert was covered with a blanket of white snow.
However, the ice lasted for a whole day before it melted under the hot sun.
The first recorded snowfall was in 1979 - an hourly snowstorm. Although temperatures drop to freezing at night, the lack of moisture makes it difficult to produce snow.
But who knows, you may be lucky enough to see me on your next trip to the Sahara!
2) There are only two countries in the world where Coca Cola does not exist
You would think that Coca-Cola is something you can find globally, but these two countries have been in the US for a long time - North Korea since 1950 and Cuba since 1962.

However, North Korea has made its black soda. They call it Ryongjin Cola or 'Cocoa Sparkling.' It has the same red packaging and font combination but has the same taste? 🤔 Let us know in the comments if you have tried it!
3) Sudan has the most pyramids in the world (not Egypt)
Egypt and the pyramids are almost the same, but did you know that Sudanese towers are too? Nubia, a region in Sudan, has 255 pyramids - twice the size of Egypt!
After the reign of the 25 Egyptian emperors, the Nubian Pharaohs fled to Sudan and established a Cushite empire, incorporating Egyptian culture into their new city.

The Nubian pyramids are not as widely visited as those in Egypt. So the chances of having your pyramids!
Jebel Barkal has a bigger reward than four significant sites. The existing pyramids are well-preserved and stand alongside a small mountain. Climb the hill just before sunset to capture the magnificent Nile view!
4) The most famous rainbow in Colombia is in its river
It usually finds a rainbow in the sky, but Caño Cristales, also known as the "Five Colors River," is brighter than any rainbow in the sky.
Located in the Serverranía de la Macarena National Park of Colombia, this magnificent river and its colorful variety are Macarenia Clavigera, a plant that lives along the river.
It is best to visit between May and November when the flowers of the river weeds are yellow, blue, green, and red.
They get bright colors as the water is shallow, allowing more sunlight to reach the plants.
5) The Sahara Desert is usually a tropical rain forest
Sahara again ?! Hopefully, this is cool even.
The Sahara Desert is known as the world's hottest desert. However, just 6,000 years ago, this arid land was verdant of the lush tropical rain forest.

Although we have never seen the Sahara flourish fully, future generations are possible.
If the earth survives the next 10,000 years, a similar change in climate patterns could leave the Sahara looking very different.
