Top 5 Tips for Successful Article Writing

You may have heard by now that writing articles and posting them in different places is a great way to increase traffic to your websites and ultimately increase your income.

But if the articles you write aren't getting people's attention, and they're not clicking on your resource block links, then you need to do something about it! Here are the top 5 tips to help you write the most successful articles.

Tip #1: The most important thing you need to do when writing articles is to get the reader's attention. Otherwise, how will they finish the article to click on your link?

How can you get people's attention? It's proven that people are more receptive to stories or people they know. Add a quote from a famous person at the beginning of the article, so that people associate your knowledge with that famous person's knowledge. Or you can retell a story you once heard, it could be something that happened to you, or a fable that you can relate to your topic.

Tip #2: Of course, what's a great article without a catchy headline! The reason I still maintain that you need an article that will attract and hold people's attention is because it determines how many people will enjoy your article. You want to maintain a high level of quality in all your articles, as this will attract the most people to your sites.

But of course, you will need a headline that will get people to look at your article. You need to come up with a headline that describes the topic of your article, but at the same time contains something cryptic to make people click. People respond well to lists and 'top 10s', but they also like questions or hints of success.

Tip #3: Choose a very relevant topic. If you're writing about breastfeeding or babies, try writing an article about the latest nappy trend or something related to the modern world. Write seasonal or holiday articles. Webmasters and e-publishing owners are always looking for articles that relate well to the current time of year.

When it's Christmastime, link your topic to Christmas, and do the same for other holidays and seasons. If you don't know what else to use, read the news, some weblogs or talk to your friends to find out about the most current events.

Tip #4: Check your grammar and spelling. It may seem obvious, but articles with poor grammar or spelling won't do you any good. Such articles may even be rejected by some article posting sites! So take a few extra seconds to click on the "Check Spelling" button. You will see that it makes a big difference.

Tip #5: Write from the heart or from personal experience. This is one tip that will help you write more easily, which will then be reflected in your articles. If you are interested in the topic you are writing about, you are bound to write better articles. You may have learned that a certain keyword is in high demand, but you just don't have the motivation to write about it. Take a break and write about what you really care about, and think about another topic at the same time.

If you keep practicing this technique, you'll soon be thinking about more topics and will be able to write on a variety of topics without losing the personality that you can add to each of your articles.
