If you’re on the market for a smartwatch then you’re in luck as the market is currently booming.
From the humble days of Pebble, where smartwatches were essentially just wrist-worn pagers, the market has blossomed and these days there are a wealth of great wearables to choose from for all sorts of interests. Whether you’re looking for a device to control your music or you’re a hardcore triathlete in need of a serious training companion, there’s surely a smartwatch for you,
But while this choice is great, it can also make knowing which smartwatch is right for you fairly difficult. With so many wearables focusing on specific types of user and the market, and many still costing a fair amount of cash, it can be a costly mistake to plump for the wrong option.
There are also a number of often-unforeseen pitfalls that can lead to you outright wasting your money. Apple Watches, for example, still only work when paired with an iPhone, making them a poor investment for Android users. Based on our experience many seemingly-strong smartwatches don’t perform well with real world use, offering terrible battery life and poor build quality, despite having decent specs sheets.
To help you avoid these problems and get the right smartwatch for your specific needs and budget, we’ve put together this buyers’ guide which details all the top performing wearables we’ve tried and tested.
Every wearable on this list has been used by the reviewer for at least a week, during which they test all the key areas most buyers care about. These include tracking accuracy, battery life, ease of use and build quality, so you can count on our buying advice.

You're in luck if you're looking for a smartwatch right now because the market is exploding.
Since the humble beginnings of Pebble, when smartwatches were effectively just wrist-worn pagers, the market has exploded, and there are now a tonne of fantastic wearables available for all kinds of hobbies. There is undoubtedly a smartwatch for you, whether you're seeking for a device to control your music or you're a dedicated triathlete in need of a serious training partner.
While having so many options is fantastic, it can be challenging to choose the best smartwatch for your needs. Given that so many wearables target particular user and market segments and that many of them are still quite expensive,
Best smartwatch: Apple Watch Series 8 .
Best Wear OS smartwatch: Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.
Best for serious athletes: Garmin Fenix 7 .
Best for entry-level fitness tracking: Fitbit Versa 3
Best rugged smartwatch: Apple Watch Ultra.
•Apple Watch Series 8 .
So, I've had the pleasure of spending a little more time with the Apple Watch SE and the Apple Watch Series 8 to provide this review. In conclusion, the Apple Watch Series 8 is larger than the SE, but slightly smaller, lighter, and thinner than the Ultra (and much lighter on your money too).
It's a device for Apple fans, just like every other Apple Watch before it: You need an iPhone to set it up, although you may now use some models without the iPhone nearby—handy if you're putting it up for a family member, for instance, who doesn't have an iPhone.
This smartwatch might be ideal for you.
•Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.
The watch 5 , 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, contactless payments, GPS, optional LTE, contactless payments, and 5ATM water resistance are all shared by the Watch 5 and the Watch 4. The significantly upgraded 3-in-1 BioActive sensor offers the same health capabilities, including body composition analyses, ECGs, and heart rate monitoring. The only new component in terms of hardware is an infrared temperature sensor. By the way, that doesn't do much right now. According to reports, it will increase the accuracy of sleep tracking, but as Samsung stated during Unpacked, it added the sensor so developers could experiment with building future health features. Additionally, it runs Wear OS Powered by Samsung (commonly known as Wear OS 3 running).
•Garmin Fenix 7
The Garmin Fenix 7 is built for anyone who gets a thrill from the competition and wants to challenge themselves to attain a new high - whether it's a cycling sportive, a half marathon, an Ironman, or the rigorous sweat of a CrossFit competition. The Fenix 7 gives you tools that will help you understand your current fitness level, set a realistic goal, and train in a way that will help you achieve it. It doesn't assume that you've already got a full training plan in place or know exactly how to balance work and recovery, though
•Fitbit Versa 3
Fitbit Versa 3 as an excellent purchase because it has finally addressed our main complaint about the Versa line of smartwatches. Depending on pricing, we've even placed it first among the Best Fitbits, surpassing the Fitbit Sense. If you decide to leave your phone behind, the Versa 3 now has embedded GPS to measure the speed and distance of your walks, runs, bike rides, or hikes in real time.
•Apple Watch Ultra
The Apple Watch Ultra is large, a little thick, and heavily loaded with capabilities that the ordinary person won't use on a daily basis. In addition, excluding the Hermès model, it is the most expensive watch in the current Apple Watch lineup. I don't believe it will replace Garmin, Polar, or Coros watches for the Ironman, thru-hiker, or deep-sea diving crowds just yet after a week of testing. However, it's actually beneficial for weekend warriors and intermediate athletes, and it's quite alluring for those who aspire to that position as well as a large number of people who simply want the largest, baddest Apple Watch they can get
NICE BRO ☺️
