1. Comparison
What is it? What are the criteria for comparison..?? Comparing seems good; it’s not comparing the car/bike/clothes. But with the fellow human being.
Here in India, a good score, a career like an IT professional, or any good earning profession is considered, and it is believed to be an Identity. Hence, they start comparing the who don’t have this identity. The majority of the people who fall into this trap end up with an identity crisis. This is the result of too many engineering graduates, unskilled professionals, etc. Most of Indian’s major issue/problem is comparison. Just by comparing the capabilities and interests of a person over some other person.
Everyone has their own individuality, but as I said before if someone doesn’t match the identity, the comparison starts. Someone may study well; someone may play well. Individuality has no value here in India. That’s why we lack medals in Olympics. The point that we Indian’s should understand is that every person has their own thoughts, interests, and ideas. So let them focus on that. How do they use this term comparison? Their question gradually starts for general talks and leads drastically to the unwanted questions that have no value for them and me. Yet, the pressure is put towards me, creating a dilemma that makes me feel Am I doing anything wrong? Parents need to concern their son’s/daughter’s interests and let them feed their dreams and make their own way.
2. Gossiping
Gossiping can start with any of the topics like social information, appearance or achievement. Here in India, mostly the gossiping starts after women complete their households and sit with the neighborhood or Relative. It actually starts with the particular person, and it goes on various topics like the private or personal activities of a certain person or affairs of others. Sometimes gossiping helps to know about a person's good and bad family status, but it goes down and ends up with hatred and jealousy. Everyone does gossip about the roadside walker, school/college professor, the workplace, etc. It’s is the most unhealthy thing done by people. A person talks well in front of me and gossips about my bad side with his friends or colleagues. Gossips usually spread hatred, and hence the character of a person gets spoiled and gets marked in this society.
3. Jealousy
Most Indians are jealous and get jealous of a person by seeing their development in society, the rich lifestyle, vehicles, residential areas, etc.
Also the mode of jealous varies from state to state. If you ask, to be honest, jealous is not only the issue we face. It also includes envy, talking in curved ways instead of the straight path, gossips, two-faced persons (talking the one point in a place and another point in another place), and more. So, the main scapegoat here are students/working professional etc. They are forced to be wealthier as comparing their neighborhood or any other person and becoming jealous that the other person would be rich in the short-term? What did he do? How he earns? What profession he is doing? So, it’s a crappy way that the person becomes jealous and isn't trying to avoid the situation.
4. Helping Tendency
You may have a question why am I talking about the good gesture. This is not actually the good one, but their humiliating level lies under this topic. When you are in an Urge of help, these things happen to we Indians, they would establish themselves as they are helping, but they are not. I say straight forward attitude is much better than this fake genuineness. They would try to show us that they are actually here to help us, but as the time passes from days to weeks to months to a year, we end up saying by ourselves that I don’t need your help, and finally, they would point you saying that you denied their help. This tendency to help someone down just shows them the path, but they hide the path. Give your hand and let your fellow brother/sister to grow beside you.
5. Putting Psychological Pressure
Most of the Indian Parents/Relatives don’t even know that they are putting his/her Son/daughter or their in-laws under extreme psychological pressure. This may sound weird; once they talk about an issues that may be anything related to getting good scores, getting a good job, getting married, having a baby, growing a baby everything they think that is not an issue but is definitely an issue which no Indians will understand, it is like an arrow from a bow they don’t get to know the speed and the sharpness, the one who is taking it is getting hurt, they don’t understand the weightage of each words. Some end up their life just because of this psychological pressure you keep on him. Many don’t land on the desired job, don’t do their desired degree, or marry the desired woman; all that matters to them is the so-called society.
Conclusion
These were the most relevant reason for not becoming like an Indian parent or relative. They seem good, but actually, they are not; all the above comes before them. I don’t want to blame anyone as we Indians are raised like our ancestors. I consider all humans on this earth not to do such things to anyone; you got something SHARE. SPREAD HUMANITY, NEVER CURSE ANYONE, NEVER BACKBITE. LET THE NEXT GENERATION LIVE IN PEACE.
