1- Kedarnath Temple
Kedarnath Temple is the first temple of Panch Kedar. It is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. Mainly known as the temple of Hindu god Shiva. The temple is located on the Garhwal Himalayan Range near the Mandakini River. The temple is open only between April (Akshaya Tritiya) and November (Kartik Purnima, the autumn full moon). It is not directly connected to the road; pilgrims must complete the uphill trek of 22 kilometers from Gaurikund to reach the temple. One of the best spiritual and trekking places in Uttarakhand or India.
2- Tungnath Temple
Tungnath Temple is the second temple of Panch Kedar. Located in Rudraprayag district and is the highest of all four temples. The Tungnath mountains form the Mandakini and Alaknanda river valleys. It is located at an altitude of 3,470 m (11,385 ft) and just below the peak of Chandrashila. This temple also opens in the monsoon season for pilgrims. Chopta is the nearest place where people start trekking for Tungnath Temple. The distance between Chopta to Tungnath trek is 5 km. This trek is one of the most adventurous hike treks. This takes you to the highest Shiva temple in the world.
3- Rudranath Temple
Rudranath temple is the third Kedar among all five temples. It is a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Shiva, located in the Garhwal Himalayan mountains in Uttarakhand, India. Located at 3,600 meters above sea level, this natural rock temple is situated within a dense forest. Trek of 25km from Sagar village to Rudranath Temple is mesmerizing. The place is surrounded by the lofty Garhwal Himalayan Mountains and is located at 3600 m. It is said that this important Hindu shrine was built in the 8th Century AD and is said to shelter the face of Lord Shiva.
4- Madmaheshwar Temple
Madhyamaheshwar or Madmaheshwar is a Hindu temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, located in the Goundar village of Garhwal Himalayas in Uttarakhand, India. Madmaheshwar can be reached by trekking 16 km from Ransi Village. The trek is straightforward to complete up to Bartoli, but from Bantoli to Madhmaheshwar, there is a steep ascent. Bartoli is the point of confluence of Madhyamaheshwar Ganga and Martyenda Ganga. The trail continues to Katara, Nanu, and then Madhyamaheshwar.
5- Kalpeshwar Temple
Kalpeshwar Mahadev is the last temple of Panch Kedar. A trek from the Urgam village, which is well connected with the state's road network, will take you to the destination. You can get a taxi to Urgam from major destinations of the Garhwal region like Rishikesh, Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Joshimath.
These five temples are the famous pilgrimage places in Uttarakhand. According to recent stories, many Gods live there, so this is called the land of gods. Everybody who is the devotee of Lord Shiva should visit these places once in life. The body and mind both will feel relax after reaching there. Views are superb to watch enjoyable path. Uttarakhand is called Devbhoomi because of these beautiful temples.
