Samsung released an Android 12-based One UI 4.0 Beta update to the Galaxy S21 series earlier this week. The update is currently available in South Korea, the US, and Germany, but most markets will access the update soon. The new software brings a slightly improved UI layout, smooth animation and transitions, and many other software features.
In addition to the features introduced by Google in the stock version of Android 12, Samsung has added a set of features to enhance user experience on Galaxy devices. We have shown almost all the new features, and design improvements in our One UI 4.0 videos, and here are our top five qualities of One UI 4.0 among them.
1. Smooth Ui images and transitions
The single UI 4.0 feels smoother on
the Galaxy S21 series compared to the One UI 3. It all seems a little softer and more compact, whether animation, scrolling, or shift. Users will be happy to see these improvements in everyday use.
2. Improved privacy
Improved privacy is a matter of hours, and One UI 4.0 brings a lot of privacy-related improvements. You can now check the permissions history feature to see which apps access your phone's camera, clipboard, microphone, and location data. There is a privacy indicator in the top right corner of the screen to let you know if any app uses your phone's camera or microphone.
You can quickly disable or enable camera and microphone access using instant setup toggles. You can also choose whether the app can access your nearest or precise location. For example, Google Maps or Uber may require your exact location, but the weather app does not.
3. New widgets on the lock screen
and on the home screen
Now you can do more with the lock screen of your Galaxy smartphone. Samsung has introduced the ability to start voice recording using a new screen lock widget. The media player widget on the lock screen now allows us to change the audio output target, which means you can select audio output from connected Bluetooth earphones, phone speakers, Google Cast device, Music Share, or Smart View. There is a new calendar widget showing monthly views and today's entries. The same widget can also be used on the home screen.
4. Open Always On Display When you receive a notification
This is a very easy-to-use feature. We all love the AoD (Frequently Displayed) feature on Galaxy smartphones, but it can consume much energy. Therefore, Samsung added the ability to display AoD screen only when you receive a
5. Camera application development
The ability to start recording videos in photo mode has improved. You can hold the capture button to start recording the video in photo mode, but you can now drag that button to the key-shaped icon so that the video recording can continue, or you can raise your finger.
Additionally, in video mode, the phone starts recording as soon as you touch the capture button. Previously, video recording would have formed when you felt and left control, missing important moments in your life. The camera app also displays better understandable icons for zoom ranges. Buttons are now labeled 0.6x, 1x, 3x, and so on. Previously they had a leaf-based design, which was difficult to understand, especially for regular customers.
