Dooars

Lepcha Jagat

Lepchajgat, a remote, secluded village in the hills of Darjeeling, is very popular with offbeat lovers. It is located a few kilometers away from the famous hill station of Darjeeling. This aboriginal village became known as the popular "weekend destination" after the arrival of the British.

Don't miss the heavenly experience of watching sunrise and sunset. Apart from decorative flowers, many birds will be seen here. Rare species of birds like fire-tailed sunbirds. Sandakphu

Sandakan is one of the most sought-after places in the world. You can drive or trek to Sandakan. The journey starts from Manevanjan, 26 km from Darjeeling. Porter and a guide will be needed from Manevanjan. Anyone from Manevanjan can take a Land Rover made in 1950 to Sandakan and Fault. However, due to the steep mountain path, the journey is not very comfortable.

The entire trek to Sandakan can take up to 7-8 days. While trekking, you can visit the national park where you can see birds like Himalayan Black Bear, Clouded Leopard, or Scarlet Minivet.

Chandraketugarh

If you are interested in history, visit Chandraketugarh, an offbeat city located only 45 km from Kolkata.
Chandraketugarh in Berachampar, about 45 km from Kolkata, is of considerable historical importance. Historians and tourists have been flocking here since the discovery of the archeological remains. Chandraketugarh, on the Vidyadhari River, is an archeological city belonging to the ancient kingdom of Gangaridai, which existed 2,500 years ago. Archaeological excavations at Chandraketugarh have uncovered traces of the Maurya, Gupta, and Kushan periods of the fourth century BC. It is said that the place was named after a king named Chandraketu. The place of interest here is the mound of Khana Mihir. You will also see the half-finished mosque of Pir Gorachand nearby. Vidyadhari Bridge will be visited by rickshaw or van around Chandraketugarh. From here, the form of the Vidyadhari river is amazing! The house of actor Biswas is also in this place.
