TOP 5 OCTOBER BIG GAMES YOU SHOULD KEEP ON YOUR RADAR

E3 2021 has ended, and it was an event packed with significant announcements, reveals, trailers, and more, as is customary. Video game publishers and developers, as expected, used E3 2021 to announce release dates for forthcoming games, and now that the dust has settled, one month in particular sticks out as particularly interesting for players.

October 2021 is shaping up to be a big month for gamers this year, with E3 2021 putting it on track to be the industry's most significant month of the year. A slew of high-profile video game releases is planned for October, and there's a good chance there are still more to come.

Battlefield 2042

After months of rumors and speculation, EA has officially revealed Battlefield 2042, the next installment in the long-running Battlefield franchise. Battlefield 2042 will be a multiplayer-only game featuring up to 128 player fights in the next-gen version. Battlefield 2042 will undoubtedly have a beta before its release, but those who want the complete experience can start playing online multiplayer arenas on October 22. Subscribers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or EA Play will be able to play Battlefield 2042 a week early when it launches on October 15.

Release date: October 22

Battlefield 2042 will launch for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Metroid Dread

The announcement of Metroid Dread at Nintendo's E3 2021 showcase was a great surprise. The long-awaited 2D Metroid game, Metroid Dread, has had a rough development cycle, but it appears that the game will finally see the light of day in October. Metroid Dread is a Nintendo Switch exclusive that takes the franchise back to its beginnings while wrapping up the story of the original Metroid game in the 1980s.

Release date:  October 8

Metroid Dread is exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Square Enix appears to be far from through with Marvel titles. Square Enix and Eidos Montreal are developing a Guardians of the Galaxy game in which players assume the role of Star-Lord and combat aliens while choosing critical plot decisions. The MCU version of the brand influences the Guardians of the Galaxy video game, and fans of the E3 2021 trailer should know that they'll be able to play it later this year.

Release date: October 26

Guardians of the Galaxy will launch for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Back 4 Blood

Left 4 Dead made Turtle Rock Studios famous; however, the series is now owned by Valve and has remained dormant since the release of Left 4 Dead 2. While it appears that Valve has no plans to continue the Left 4 Dead series, fans can look forward to Back 4 Blood, the game's spiritual successor. Back 4 Blood is more or less Left 4 Dead 3, launching as a day one Xbox Game Pass title, offering the typical zombie-slaying action with some upgrades and various changes to keep things feeling fresh. Back 4 Blood was undoubtedly one of the most promising games shown at E3, and its October release date is ideal for a blood-soaked zombie game.

Release date: October 12

Back 4 Blood will launch for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Far Cry 6

Ubisoft's open-world games have been chastised for being too identical, but Far Cry 6 deviates significantly from the established pattern. The switch to a third-person view for cutscenes and other moments in Far Cry 6 is one of the game's significant alterations. This could go a long way toward making Far Cry 6's protagonist more relatable than the game's customary heroes, allowing gamers to become more immersed in the plot than they might otherwise be.

Far Cry 6 will be an open-world game in which players participate in a guerrilla revolt against an authoritarian regime led by Anton Castillo. Giancarlo Esposito will play him. So far, what we've seen of the game is quite fantastic, and it'll surely be one of the big video game launches on October 7.

Release date: 7 October

Far Cry 6 will launch for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on October 7.
