NEET Rules and Regulations – Exam day Guidelines

1. NEET Rules and Regulations – OMR Sheet Filling

Every NEET aspirant by now is aware of the OMR sheet. It is a sheet provided in the exam hall wherein a student records responses by bubbling corresponding circles. Guidelines are provided for the same, which are as listed below:

• NEET OMR sheet must be marked with a black or blue pen ONLY. Pencils not allowed
• Bubble the area thoroughly, not partially, or outside the circle
• OMR sheet must be devoid of any markings, writings, scribbling
• NEET OMR sheet has the “index point” – 4 dots at the corner of the sheet. Students are strictly warned not to write or scribble around this region. In case of any writings here, the candidate’s response sheet shall be disapproved and disqualified from being taken into consideration.
• Bubbling more than one circle for a question is not allowed. The multiple responses provided for such a question shall not be counted.
• OMR sheet must not be stapled, punched, tied, or pinned with anything
• NEET OMR sheet must be uncreased

2. NEET Rules and Regulations – Dress Code

NTA implements strict instructions on the dress code for NEET aspirants that must be followed without fail. In addition, it also specifies a list of items that are barred from being carried to the hall.

3. General Instructions – Dress Code

• Both males and females must opt for light colors, half-sleeved tops/t-shirts
• Dress should not have fancy/big buttons, embroidery, etc
• Shoes are not allowed. Wear slippers/sandals

(i) Dress Code For Males

All male candidates must follow this set of instructions when it comes to the dressing code.

• Opt for light colors, avoid long sleeves
• Soft colored pants or trousers should be worn
• Avoid jeans
• Sneakers, shoes, boots are strictly not allowed. Opt for slippers, sandals with little to no heels
• Full or long sleeves not allowed
• Avoid layering clothes with jackets, etc
• Kurta-pajamas to be avoided
• Avoid accessories

(ii) Dress Code For Females

NEET aspirants who are females can follow this set of instructions specified by the NTA regarding the dress code on the day of the exam.

• Opt for simple, light-colored dresses
• Avoid long and fancy sleeves; go for half sleeves.
• Fancy embroidery, brooches, badges, designer frills, pockets, buttons, floral designs, etc., must be avoided.
• Shoes, closed sandals, boots, high heels, stilettos, fancy footwear is not permitted. Opt for slippers or open-toed sandals
• Avoid layering your clothing with jackets, sweatshirts, shrugs, etc
• Jewelry, accessories, ornaments such as earrings, nose-pin, rings, necklaces, pendants, watches, belts, etc. to be avoided on the whole
• Churidars/leggings must be avoided

3. Customary Dress

Specific candidates who cannot abide by few dress code guidelines owing to religious commitments must have specified the same while filling up the NEET online application form under the “customary dress” option.

These candidates must ensure to report to the venue at least one hour prior for thorough frisking and security checks. By the NEET Rules and regulations, such candidates with customary dressing options must arrive early (at least one hour earlier) to the last reporting time.
