1. THE DEVIL ALL THE TIME (2020)
The Devil All the Time is a 2020 American psychological thriller film directed by Antonio Campos, from a screenplay co-written with his brother Paulo Campos, based on the same name by Donald Ray Pollock. The latter also serves as the film's narrator. The cast includes Tom Holland, Bill Skarsgård, Riley Keough, Jason Clarke, Sebastian Stan, Haley Bennett, Harry Melling, Eliza Scanlen, Mia Wasikowska, and Robert Pattinson, whose characters' stories weave together.
The Devil All the Time was released in select theaters on September 11, 2020, and Netflix on September 16, 2020. It received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the performances of Holland and Pattinson but criticized the dark tone.
PLOTLINE: Sinister characters converge around a young man devoted to protecting those he loves in a postwar backwoods town teeming with corruption and brutality.
2. Raat Akeli Hai (2020)

Raat Akeli Hai (transl. 'The night is lonely') is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language crime thriller drama film directed by Honey Trehan.[2] Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, Shweta Tripathi, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Nishant Dahiya, Gyanendra Tripathi, Ila Arun, Swanand Kirkire, Nitesh Kumar Tiwari, and Aditya Srivastava, the film follows a small-town cop who is summoned to investigate the death of an elderly family member.[3][4]Raat Akeli Hai was released on Netflix on July 31, 2020.[5] The film received critical acclaim for its performances and direction. Nawazuddin Siddiqui earned a Best Actor award at the Filmfare OTT Awards, while the film also won Best Film at the ceremony.
PLOTLINE: The film follows a small-town cop summoned to investigate the death of a politician who gets complicated by the victim's secretive family and his own conflicted heart.
3. RED (2021)

Red is a 2021 Indian Telugu-language action thriller film directed by Kishore Tirumala and produced by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore under Sri Sravanthi Movies. It stars Ram Pothineni in a double role alongside Nivetha Pethuraj, Malvika Sharma, and Amritha Aiyer. A remake of the 2019 Tamil-language film Thadam by Magizh Thirumeni follows a murder investigation involving a civil engineer and his lookalike as prime suspects.
The film was announced in October, had its principal shoot commenced in November 2019, and ended in March 2020. Most of the film was shot in Hyderabad, except for two songs that were shot in Italy. Red has music composed by Mani Sharma, while Sameer Reddy and Junaid Siddiqui performed cinematography and editing. The film was released on January 14, 2021, coinciding with Sankranthi, after being delayed from its initial release date of April 9, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
PLOTLINE: One pictorial evidence, two lookalike suspects, and just 48 hours are all the cops have to solve a murder case.
4. PSYCHO (2020)

Psycho is a 2020 Indian Tamil-language psychological crime thriller film written and directed by Mysskin. Arun Mozhi Manickam produced the movie under Double Meaning Production. The film stars Udhayanidhi Stalin, Nithya Menen, Aditi Rao Hydari, and debutant Rajkumar Pitchumani, while Renuka, Singampuli, Ram, Aadukalam Naren, and Shaji Chen play supporting roles. Ilaiyaraaja composed the soundtrack of the film,[1][2][3] with cinematography by Tanvir Mir and editing by N. Arunkumar. Production began in September 2018, and the film was released worldwide on January 24, 2020.
PLOTLINE: Based on the Buddhist tale of Angulimala, a dreaded serial killer, Psycho tells the story of a blind man who gets involved in a murder mystery.
5. FORGOTTEN (2017)

Forgotten (Korean: 기억의 밤; RR: Gieokui Bam) is a 2017 South Korean psychological thriller film directed and written by Jang Hang-jun.[2][3][4] The film stars Kang Ha-neul and Kim Mu-yeol, with Moon Sung-Keun and Na Young-hee in supporting roles.[5][6]
PLOTLINE: When his abducted brother returns seemingly a different man with no memory of the past 19 days, Jin-Seok chases after the truth behind the kidnapping.
