INTRODUCTION
Still, 95 percent of the ocean is said to be unexplored and yet to be known. Many things are still to be known, and in this article, 5 mysterious sounds recorded by underwater devices are mentioned.
1. THE BLOOP
First recorded by hydrophones, 3000 miles away. The real version of BLOOP is really eerie, and the version you people would have heard is speeded 16X times. Still, the ocean's darkest depths yet remain to be exposed, and sound has no proper origin. The cause of the sound has no proof overall. Scientist says that the cause could have been an ice quake, and many believe it to be a fictional creature called Cthulhu, which HB Lovecraft wrote about living there. All.
2. THE UPSWEEP
Named as UPSWEEP because the sound was recorded as sweeping sounds by hydrophones. It was first heard when the Pacific marine environmental laboratory began its underwater surveillance in 1991. It is pretty loud when it is autumn and spring, and sound gradually decreases on other days of the year. It is said to be created by bubbles from a submarine volcano getting trapped in a cave. But what's fascinating is that it's seasonal and can be heard faintly echoing throughout the sea, and the real-time version is too long to hear. Since the discovery of the sound, it is decreasing slowly year after year.
3. THE TRAIN
It is named after the similar sound of wheels of train rubbing against railway track, recorded by hydrophones underwater on March 5th, 1997 by the equatorial Pacific ocean autonomous hydrophones array in the same year as the Bloop. There is very little information on this sound, but there are many theories about what it could be. Scientist claims that it could be an iceberg dragging along the seafloor causing shock waves and sounds. But, many are certain that this is not the case, and it might be a sea creature living among the iceberg. With new creatures being found every year, and unexplained depth of the ocean makes it more mysterious and unexplained.
4. JULIA
Since 1999 an annual sound is recorded by the national oceanic and atmospheric administration. Named JULIA, this creepy sound has more speculation surrounding it, heard right off the coast of South America, and many believe that it sounds like something was howling from underwater. Many say that idea of sea creatures is unrealistic and it could be volcanic activity. Still, the sound reoccurring every year one's imagination can run wild, from giant whales to enormous octopuses. There were even picture captured by NASA, which was somewhere near the places where JULIA could be heard. The creature in the image is larger than the empire state building; it is crazy to believe; still, the picture and JULIA remain a mystery.
5. SLOW DOWN
All of the sounds here are starters, but this takes you to another level; this sound was recorded on several occasions. On May 19, 1995, it was recorded by underwater recorders in the equatorial Pacific Ocean, just off the antarctic peninsula, and this descending frequency was detected by 3 three sensors nearly 3100 miles away. It sounds like it's out of a horror movie. NOAA has explained this sound was caused by ice friction caused by breaking off ice slabs sliding down the side to the ocean bottom, but later this sound was clarified under unexplained sounds of the sea by NOAA.
CONCLUSION
Still, many more sounds are there, but I find these sounds especially creepy and eerie; sounds heard in the sea are really slow, but most of the sounds described here are 16X sped versions. Thank you.
