1. Malhar Gad:
Malhar Gad' is quiet, less explored, and perfect for small treks. It is a hill fort near Saswad, which is hardly 30 km away from Pune city. The village 'Sonori' is situated at its base, so it is also known as 'Sonori fort.' Malhar Gad was the last fort built by the 'Marathas' in 1775. The fort was built to keep watch on 'Dive Ghat' along the Pune-Saswad route. The defense is in good condition to date. There are two temples constructed side by side—the smaller for lord 'Khandoba' and the larger for lord 'Mahadeva.' From the top of the Malhar Gad, half of the Pune city can be seen. Also, the town of 'Jejuri' and 'Parvati hills' can be seen. The fort of 'Sinhagad,' 'Purandar,' and 'Vijragad' are also visible. It is the best destination for small trekking. Also, it is surrounded by full of greenery and a peaceful environment.
2. Ramdara:
This is a very scenic temple situated on Pune-Solapur highway in 'Loni Kalbhor.' Ramdara is one of the best places to spend some time to cool and calm your mind. It is away from pollution, crowd, markets but not away from Pune. The lake surrounds the temple. There are 'kamal' roses in the lake; also, there is a track around the lake—the main. The temple's main shrine is that of 'Shiva,' but it is renowned for the idols of 'Ram, Lakshman, and Sita.' There is an ashram of Shri 'Devipuri Maharaj', also know as 'Dhundi Baba,' next to the temple. The area near the place is full of greenery. Different types of animals and birds can be seen around.
3. Dive Ghat:
'Dive Ghat' is located near Hadapsar; as you go towards Saswad, you will reach Dive ghat. With its winding roadways and beautiful views, this area has a lot more to offer than expected. Especially in monsoon, the clouds blow so low that you can touch them as you ride through. Along the way, there is greenery and random little waterfalls. You will encounter minimum traffic once you reach Dive ghat and can have the most peaceful natural experience.
4. Mastani Lake:
'Mastani Lake or Talav' is a symbol of Love and Romance. Also, it is a crucial water source to villages nearby. It was built around 1720. The lake was called the 'Wadaki Talav.' Later, the name was changed after the couple 'Bajirao and Mastani' kept visiting the spot, and it was often considered Mastani Bai's bathing spot. The lake is spread over 14 acres, it has two temples around it, and the lush green farmland invites rabbits, deers, and peacocks. So get your cameras out and make sure you capture the beauty around you.
5. Kanifnath Temple:
A short drive away from the city will bring you to the temple on the small hill. 'Kanifnath, also known as 'Kanhoba,' is a Hindu Saint. He is one of the nine Mahayogis of Navnath Sampradaya. It is a religious and unique place for devotees.
You can't miss the sunset and top view of Pune city from the top of the hill. Drive through the hilly and narrow roads of 'Bopdev Ghat' is interesting. Also, you can visit the temple from Hadapsar to dive ghat to Saswad. The rainy season is the perfect time to visit this place from Kondhava via Bopdev Ghat.
