Global smartphone sales fell 1.3% year-on-year in the third quarter, according to a report by research firm IDC released on October 29. 2nd place Huawei

IDC said sales in China also fell by more than 15% as global sales continued to decline, and US sanctions also affected the Chinese domestic market.
3rd place Xiaomi
Xiaomi's third-quarter sales increased 42% to third place, with IDC valuing its continued strong presence, especially in China. Smartphone sales outside of China are also expanding, with nearly half of overseas sales, including India, which is growing, the IDC added.
According to IDC, the company's low-priced smartphones, such as the Redmi 9 series, sold well in India and China. Currently, the company has a 13.1% share of the smartphone market.
4th place Apple
On the other hand, Apple's iPhone sales fell 10.6% year-on-year to 4th place globally, with a market share of 11.8%.
That's a big drop for Apple, which topped the list, accounting for nearly one in five smartphones worldwide in the fourth quarter of 2019. According to IDC, the main reason is the postponement of the iPhone 12 release, but the model has already been released, and it is expected that the number of iPhone sales will increase in the fourth quarter.

5th place Vivo
Nearly one in eleven smartphones purchased worldwide was a Vivo product, IDC reported.
The company's global sales increased 4.2% year on year, while sales of low-priced models in India increased by nearly 30%.
